He takes them off for free throws, and he does well. But I see him missing shots from two feet and the ball misses the rim! Last night he had two layups that missed everything. He also seems to fumble the ball on passes and rebounds. I contribute it to his eye injury and the goggles. I hope he fully recovers for his own health. But I love him and his effort out there.

Those glasses are a problem for sure. I wore some recspecs that my buddy brought one time to pick up ball and they fogged up in like 15 seconds and I couldn't see jack. I suspect he would rather take his chances and not wear any but that's not worth his eyesight...

yeah, they definitely seem to bother him. it's just that he's not used to them. guys who wear goggles all the time don't have an issue. those guys don't pull them off instantly ever time there's a stoppage like Zo does.

Got to be tough wearing those. Prudent considering the risks of not wearing them but Zo has to be looking forward to being able to play without them. Appear to throw off his distance perception to some extent. St Francis game he had 14 points and last night he was 0-5 from the field and 0-2 from the free throw line. Looked like the googles were more of a hindrance last night for some reason.

Heck no he has no peripheral view in those things at all. I feel so sorry for him, it frustrates the heck out of him. Guys were by him all night before he reacted. He is still a defensive threat at 6'9", but to slow with his timing to shot block. He lifts them off every chance he gets.

Was there an injury to his eye ball, or just the bones around it? I can't see (no pun intended) how the goggles protect the broken orbital bone at all.

All I could deduce was having the googles over the orbital bone would absorb some of the shock if Zo takes contact in that area? One would think if there is soreness contact would hurt big time.

Kareem and Worthy seemed to do just fine with goggles. Just have to get used to them.
