This seems like a good time to mention how nice it is that we were able to renovate the RC without receiving a $4M commitment from a local business that has since declared bankruptcy and will not be able to honor $3.2M of said commitment to another institution. What a shame.
Oh the irony of a company that built its business empire off a bilking insurance companies and the Feds, is a big fan of the Rams and using some of that ill begotten money to build a basketball team a practice facility. Actually, maybe that isn't all that ironic.
In addition, hopefully we didn't renovate the floor with any of their other sponsor's products
The announcement that MeadWestVaco is making all of its Trapper Keepers from wood harvested from protected California redwoods should be breaking any day now. That will complete the trifecta!
400k/year loss isn't so bad. Unfortunately we lost Shaka, but we had matched Texas with a $2.5 million/year offer, then offered more. Now we're paying WW $1 million a year, that 400k nearly isn't as bad a loss as it seems since were making up money - and hopefully not losing on the court performance - from a new coach.
Learfield should find a new sponsor (it's their job now that they're giving us $2 million guaranteed a year) so it won't be a problem. Good message board banter for you all though.
