So far we only have confirmation on DC Braithwaite coming from UTC. I have it on good account that Sparky and Legg are the only two holdovers from the previous staff here.

Any other info?

I'm hearing belin might be the last guy staying but somewhat skeptical on that. Danny's staff is very very loyal anyword on utc coaches? I know Oc is on mix for other jobs and lb coach is going to Georgia state, got impression RH was disappointed about that

Which LB coach? Looks like they have a couple.

I'm quite certain that Belin is gone. Don't think it's to Newark. Probably means a DL coach is coming from UTC.

I think RH was expecting to keep up to 4 current and bring in 4 of his guys with 2 outside but I think don't think things are working out as planned for the moment. But I'm sure final staff will be a good one

Durden supposedly interviewed at Chatty yesterday, but seems like Chadwell is the favorite. Haven't heard anything about Durden and Lafayette.

So who the heck did Chatty pick? Chadwell also telling media he's out of the running.

That name came out of nowhere. Can you imagine if we'd hired a D3 coach?

Everyone wants the young rising coach. Still say best Football coaches are in FCS , they are older guys that know what there doing. I see the risk but not the reward. If he is successful he will be gone in 1-2 years or a bust

Maybe he was hired for one of the assistants he is bringing with him?
QB Coach - Payton Manning?
And the athletic donations that could bring in the state of Tennessee?

Very telling that ROCCO didn't want Legg with him, instead leaving him behind for us. I can't believe after all that's happened in the past week, we're STILL stuck with him. Wonder if Huesman has any idea how bad Richmond's special teams have been for years now.

Does anyone besides me find this process fascinating?
The new head coach knows where he'll be for several years and
will probably bring his family to Richmond. But what about the assistant coaches
that have families? Do you stay, or do you go?
I doubt any of us think about it from a personal standpoint. We just want a good coach
and don't think about what is involved.
Sure, if they are going to see a major income increase, they'll probably go. But do you go
because Danny or Russ is a good guy to work for?

Of course- but if you're settled in Richmond, do you move to Delaware for little
monetary gain because you like working for Danny? It has to be a tough decision.

Tough decision if you have a choice but if the new guy doesn't want you then you need to switch careers if you want to stay.

Bill Parcells could have been the hire and Legg would've been back. It's preordained.

It's like the in-law you keep not inviting and they continue to show up anyway with their dog and three snotty nose kids to trash your house. Groundhog Day!

I for one am tired of the opposing offense starting each possession on the 40 yard line.

I like everyone else has been frustrated by our special team play especially this past year and certainly understand the criticism of the special teams coach. I also seem to recall the harsh criticism of Bob Trott during his tenure and we see how that worked out.
Certainly Coach Legg deserves criticism for the special teams play but there are numerous factors which impact special teams.
First of all I think everybody will agree that the personnel handling kick-offs and punts have been inconsistent at best.Across midfield punts have been boomed into the end zone while from within our territory they have been kicked 30-35 yards. Let's not underestimate the skill set of the personnel on special teams. What impact did the massive injuries this year contribute the special team make-up? If memory serves Trott's defense got better with faster personnel who could contain to the outside and with taller and quicker defensive backs(i.e. David Jones, etc). Coach Legg has been here for 10 years and was part of the National Championship team. Coach Rocco was a tough taskmaster and I am sure that if Coach Legg did not have the skill set required he would have been set free during his 5 years here. Legg also has connections to the incoming DC Braithwaite from their Christopher Newport days so that may be a factor in him being retained
