Around the A10

I debated making this link, but I thought it was interesting for many reasons. I looked at pulling out certain posts but they lost meaning unless in sequence. I think the potential line up an Brooklyn is very realistic except if we are playing fresh and the sheep are playing 2nd in 2 days. One thing for sure, Brooklyn is now wide open, there are a few favored teams, but a few breaks and there are about 6 teams that could win it all. I do think we can Take some advice in not getting to high or to low.

That link is hilarious. Note spiderram's post less anyone think she is anything but a lamb troll next time she wonders over here.

My ultimate scenario:

• VCU loses to Davidson and at home to Mason and we win out to get the 4th seed. They still end up with the 5th seed somehow.

• They lose their opening game to the 12/13 seed, who we then obliterate the next day on our way to the A-10 title.

• Jeff Jones gets hired away from ODU and Shaka leaves VCU to replace him.

• Mason fires Paul Hewitt and VCU hires him to replace Shaka, citing his Final Four experience.

Eight, that is an outstanding scenario. I would only add that as a result vcu loses all games until the end of time.

Eight, that 12/13 seed.is likely to be Mason.

Seeing what two losses to us in a month, did to them, can you imagine the reaction to losing to Mason twice in a week?

Interesting stat that I just found on ESPN: our conference RPI is 45 in the nation, the second-highest in the A-10 (Davidson is 37th).

VCU's saving grace will be that it has the #1 SOS in OOC play and is 10-7 against the top-100. (We are 5-9.) We are both 3-4 against the top 50, though, and we are 2-1 against the top 25 RPI, while they are 1-2. (Obviously both of our wins are against them.)

If by some miracle Mason could beat VCU at Costco, that would be a tremendous blow. Mason is our worst loss, but that was OT on the road. We smoked them at home. So it would be worse for VCU to lose to them at home.

Getting way ahead of myself, but if we win out and they lose out, I'd honestly say head to head it would be a tough call to take them over us, especially if we were to beat them again in the A-10 tourney. Probably won't come to that, but it's fun to think about right now.

The chances of VCU losing to Mason at Costco are infinitesimal but certainly agree that even thinking about that happening has its merits....................

I agree fan, chances are small, really small, but VCU is 4-5 over there past 9. If they go down to Davidson and lose, the pressure on them for the Mason game is going to huge. Mason will have none.

On the other hand, the only team Mason is terrible.

Davidson has the best turnover-assist rate in the country and I just read VCU has had 0 fast break points off turnovers in their last two games. Can anyone say Havocless? That combined with a really good home record and Gibbs being back, how can you not favor Davidson. Let's hold up our end first and become Davidson fans Thursday(though I've always been a Davidson and Mckillop for years now). Go Spiders!
