How many open 3s can we give them? 4-5 years and they still can’t play good defense?
Defense is not emphasized. Main culture is comfort and pretty. Severe lack of size and athleticism inside. Otherwise all is good. Good thing is, if we do fail to meet expectations and somehow Mooney let go, Hardt will hire someone equally mediocre, or possibly worse. Its a great time to be a Spider!!!!

Excited to read Plydogg’s alcohol fueled rant later when he watches game on dvr.
We will win by 15 and all is well. Still see a severe lack of defensive intensity or purpose. Grace/Golden frontcourt. Mooney is a friggin genius.
We have zero bench 16 years in Mooney. Nc Central l got big production from their bench. Our shooting was horrific tonight. We won because they turned the ball over too much. When we don't make shots it really shows.
Grace played well. I no longer get a pit in my stomach when he checks in, he has become a solid sub for Grant. Sal, not so much. He hurt us a lot more than helped tonight.
Zay had a strong game, even if he didn’t shoot well. Grace was solid. Crabtree was solid. Sal was the only one that played poorly. If the only thing you are looking for is if they score a lot, you are being incredibly simple minded in your analysis and will also be sorely disappointed this year. We’ve got 5 starters that are going to take most of the shots and score most of the points, and who cares?
Grace played well??? I saw some many potential rebounds where he was glued to the floor and got beat. I guess that doesn't count, but he looked good jacking his pretty 3's. Burton picked up some unfortunate fouls. Need to keep him on the floor. More Zay and Crabtree. Hurry back Goose. Feed Cayo. Seemed like we went to Golden alot - which is OK - but would like to see Cayo get some more action. Going to need to establish some consistent 3 point threats outside of Sherod.
Lol I’ll have you know I kept the faith pretty well. It wasn’t until we were down 14 that I thought oh my god is our chance at an at-large bid going to die right here. But the final minute going into the half. Jacob turned it on and when we went into half I would have bet Ulla’s farm that we were winning that game. Jacob just had one of the best do-everything games I’ve seen from a Spider. 14 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 7 steals and zero turnovers. He was incredible out there and he was a joy to watch

Gilyard is so disruptive. And you have Zay, and Dji, and then when Goose comes back three more quick defenders. You have the most disruptive guard in college basketball, you should be able to feed and scheme off of that to have an aggressive defense.
