This program is an embarrassment. No wins against teams equal to or better than us all season. Our "best" win is against a horrible NC State team. We are 1-3 in a garbage a10. No chance of an at large. No realistic chance of winning the a10 tournament. No clue how to play the last four minutes of close games.
This is what we've been building towards for six years? How can anyone with a pulse support this leadership?

ENOUGH!

We can agree to disagree.

"Chris Mooney's Participation Trophy"

listening to Moon talk about how we r so close to being a really really good team defensively is embarrassing. He always says it w a straight face too. I’ve heard him say that a half dozen times this year...yet every team drools when they face our D. He didn’t say it in the postgame last night, probably saving that for the big pregame Fordham presser.

no that will be the redemption, all is well game where we beat the historically worst team in our conference without their best player by single digits and @VT4700 makes a rare appearance thumping his chest
Ya where has 4700 been? He seems to get awfully quiet every time things aren’t going well. Wonder why that is.

I can’t imagine there is another coach at any level of college basketball who’s been in the same spot for 17 or more years and has a worse winning percentage than Mooney. Can anyone find one?

There are a few out there from random conferences and teams that hardly anyone has ever heard of.

New Hampshire, Charleston Southern, Lafayette are candidates. Great company we keep, eh?

I see you’ve looked this up before🤣. Good finds. Amazing that those guys are even worse, but yes, telling that they are at much lower levels. I guess we aspire to such depths ourselves.

Those schools can at least point to smaller conferences, smaller markets, smaller resources as reasons why they sit at the levels they currently do. Guaranteed none of them have a 15 million dollar practice facility or have been paying their head coaches anywhere near the salary that our guy gets. Maybe that is research that I will have to do another day ha.

They aren't spending the money like we are. And yes that salary isn't close to Mooney at all.

From a perspective of a neutral that was by far our most entertaining game of the season.

I just finished watching and I think you’re crazy to have your takeaway be that we are an embarrassment for losing to an incredible davidson team with the longest win streak in the country. At this point it’s just complaining for the sake of complaining. If you’re going to call us an embarrassment after every loss then just say when the season starts 30-0 is your minimum standard because it’s the only thing that you all ultimately will accept.

That was a hell of a game and we played incredible. We just ran into a team that played even better. Losing to a red hot team is not an embarrassment.

Ply, is that you?

There’s no shame in losing to a hot streak Davidson team. Sucks it happened at home.

the real problem is the six other losses and that we can’t buy a win from the entire slate of fair to good teams we’ve played this year.

Agree that it's no shame to lose to a team like Davidson and that we played well (after recovering from the near disaster opening minutes). The shame is how we lost and played down the stretch and that it has been going on for years and years; not only against the quality teams like Davidson, but against inferior opponents.

if Mooney and 4700 have kidnapped you please give us a sign

SOS squared:

  • SOS – 17th year of same old sh@t with a soft system that scarcely works over 50% of the time. The verdict on this approach should have been obvious a looong time ago based on the data. Wake up Administration.

  • SOS – Distress signal from faithful Spider fans. We are disgusted and shamed by acceptance of mediocrity in any aspect of our school’s operations, athletics or otherwise. Wake up Administration.

It has become an embarrassment. Few, if any, other D1 schools in the country would tolerate this year after year after year while professing a commitment to “competing for championships”. Total BS.

How about - When you get serious about winning, we will get serious about giving? Wake up Administration.

KE, have I missed competing for championships, I can only recall the Administration saying our goal is to compete

Competing is the lowest possible bar. It is met by merely fielding a team.

But Fan1 as to your question regarding Administration professing a desire (goal) of competing for championships, believe it is most assuredly in the record. Pretty sure Hardt said as much upon his hiring. Others too. Will research the specifics, but not tonight.

Competing for championships is nothing more than a catch phrase for our basketball program thanks to the empty suits tasked with mgmt decisions. Empty words from those empty suits.

Hardt specifically said “compete for championships” when he decided to keep CM after the back to back 20-loss seasons.

Of course, that will mean different things to folks,
