Wide ranging sports article about Old Dominion's football and basketball affiliations but does contain this part -

The Atlantic 10 is a multi-bid league that would be a far better place for ODU. And guess what A-10 commissioner Bernadette V. McGlade told the Norfolk Sports Club last year when she spoke? The A-10 would welcome ODU.

ODU fans would drool having VCU, George Mason and Richmond back as league rivals, and the A-10 basketball tournament is in Washington, D.C., not Frisco, Texas, they would have reasonable chance again of following their Monarchs.

As with most good ideas in college athletics, the odds of this happening are long.

Why? Because they enjoy traveling thousands of miles to play? They would love to be in the A-10 and be in a league with us, vcu, mason, etc.
Just like old times.

Very logical. Never happening unless the g5/FCS merge. Unless they can Liberty their way into football independence basketball will be stuck in conference purgatory.

I agree. It would be a good thing for the A-10 and ODU basketball, but football is king there now.
