Nice to see Furman back on the schedule in the future. I remember games against them and David Whitehurst, future Packer QB and the father of Charlie Whitehurst, known as "Clipboard Jesus" during his NFL career.

Wonder if the Ivies at least let them go to 11. Seems like there should be a lawsuit there, allowing every other sport to play full seasons but penalizing football. The FCS Oversight Committee voted in favor of allowing FCS teams to play 12 regular-season games every year starting in 2026.
Ivy League has teams each year that might well be good enough to get at large bids. Playing 10 games and being 7-3 could well put a team on the bubble and playing two more OOC games and getting to 9-3 or 8-4 could have been the difference, depending on the opponents played in those two extra games.
That said, I do not know if the Ivies will be allowed to accept at large bids or if only the champion will go. I have just not researched it.
It was such a dumb move in the first place. Carolina and Cunningham did not do their due diligence to sniff out this train wreck.

Ralph Rucker IV (Bucknell)

Rucker may be the most underrated quarterback in the FCS after two stellar seasons at Bucknell. Since transferring from Oklahoma before the 2023 season, he has become one of the most successful players in program history.
Rucker holds the single-season record for passing yards (2,826), completions (244), completion percentage (67.2), total offense (2,922), and passing touchdowns (25). He also became Bucknell's all-time leader in passing touchdowns (46) last season.
Last fall, he completed 67% of his passes for 2,826 yards, 25 TDs, seven INTs, and added four touchdowns on the ground. Rucker was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and was a finalist for the Walter Payton Award.

Yoder was an integral piece in Lehigh's run to the FCS Playoffs last season. He became the program's first 1,000-yard rusher in seven seasons, earning him second-team All-Patriot League honors.
Yoder laid the groundwork for his breakout sophomore season with an impressive freshman campaign. He was named a Jerry Rice Award finalist and earned the starting job in the final five games of the year.
Over his first two seasons, Yoder has posted 1,660 yards and 15 touchdowns in 22 games. He enters next season as the highest-graded returning running back in the Patriot League by Pro Football Focus.

Their football status is still up in the air as the FBS oversight committee recommended a denial of the waiver needed for them to upgrade. The D1 Council meets next week to officially decide, but it is rare for them to go against the recommendation. Regardless of whether they get to go FBS or have to stay FCS for now, looks like they'll be independent in 2026.
