wow!...the Spiders open their defense of the CAA Championship with what's arguably one of their toughest opponents...I hope Wofford, Charleston Southern and Delaware State prepared us well...

the Phoenix, formerly known as the Fighting Christians, have been awful tough on the Spiders since Coach Huesman arrived...they've won 5 of the last 6 full season games...Richmond has not won at Elon since Danny Rocco was coach!

I expect Elon to be a Championship contender despite the Media Day poll picked them 6th in the 16 team league...Richmond will find out quickly in this one what its going to take to defend our Championship...the Phoenix bring back a lot of talent and experience on both sides of the ball...coach Trisciani believes his team is ready to break through the Championship door after just missing their piece last season...

Spiders fans painfully remember losing last season's CAA opener...as a result we had to run the table with 7 straight wins to get a piece of the Championship...in the 16 team CAA with the crazy scheduling you can just about count on a logjam at the top of the league every year...it might take seven CAA wins again...a win over a competitor on the road would be giant for Richmond...the margin for error in the CAA is very slim...I'm not sure we can win seven in a row again!

enjoy the Countdown!

Go Spiders!

Duke lost a lot and Elon pass protection was awful. Elon had a very good punter and Brayboy is still there
and dangerous wr and returner. Duke passing game opened up the running

Will it be Coleman or Wickersham at QB?

Do we wanna run or pass as our primary mode of offense.

Where are Elon’s defensive weaknesses,if there are any. That might dictate who we start,

I would wonder if it matters which way to go if DeGennaro is available. Ellis stepped up last game and other receivers got space and had a few drops.
First thoughts are they are better than their record for sure. They had drives versus Western Carolina of 61 yards that ended in an INT at the WCU 3 yard line and another of 76 yards that ended with a fumble at the WCU 14. That said they lost by 7 and Western Carolina is a good team.

Spiders need a really sound game to beat this team.

I agree that their 1-3 record is extremely misleading given their difficult OOC.I think we in for a very difficult game.

Time for Coleman to show out - this is where he can lay claim to the spot for the rest of the year and prove he is the guy. Conference play is where is really counts and this is very much a game we should expect to win if we think we’re a playoff team.

October: Run it right up the middle on the 1 on 3rd and get stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey. No balls Russ on 4th and 1. Kick a field goal/let Elon back into game.

Thanks to Winston October for calling up the middle runs every time we need a conversion. What a joke this guy

So, we lead the whole game and easily win a CAA roadie against a quality opponent, everyone's anointed QB star gets the start, our RB absolutely pounds the ball, we would have scored again if not for a late penalty, and every comment is negative. Tough crowd.
