Game 2 is huge. Need to win that one.

Agreed, that and the Stony Brook game will be the season defining games (all things equal). I see a realistic 7-4 (8-3 is outside possibility) with what we know right now.

The Defensive Question Mark for team will be: How quickly can a new defensive secondary establish itself

The Offensive Question Mark will be: Can we establish a running game outside of Mancuso?

The Special Teams Question Mark will be: Can it be special?

Very odd schedule for Delaware...open @JMU and then @Maine ... and then play Nova on 11/14 and close with OOC Del State on 11/21. There's going to be a ton of pressure on Danny next year and the Hens will be hard pressed to not go into October at 1-3 with a win over the Long Island Sharks.

Danny needs to beat Villanova tomorrow to avoid the first losing season of his career. Wow.

Late Homecoming next year. It's been nice the three times I've been back since 2011 and I'm planning on returning next year. But the later it is, the more chance for bad weather.

To borrow a term our former coach used, the college athletics "landscape" is really about to change on a variety of levels:

-NCAA rev share
-Donations

....subsequently...

-AD staffing levels realign
-Non-revenue sport offerings reduce
-expense trimming or cutting of higher cost programs altogether.
-media partners struggle to survive

Bigger picture, would expect some schools to go belly up.

College sports bubble has always been out there. Seems to be arriving faster than most would of imagined.

I wonder if this will accelerate conference realignment. Top end of FCS will eventually merge with lower FBS teams in football. Power conferences don’t want to share money. I think there is more money for low FBS/high FCS in regional conferences. People will watch the games, so networks will pay.

I think so. Tons of schools are about to go into cost-containment mode. The stress scenario where there is no football season this fall would be difficult for some to come back from. Particularly for the state schools at a time where state budgets are under assault.

How are those "student fees" to fund athletics going to fly when more students considering lower cost remote learning?

Wonder how UR Admissions is doing.

May 1st is usual Drop date for go/no go deposit date.

UR Retail/wholesale price tag which was doable over 1 month ago may not be doable for many now.

May have to dig deep into waitlist to fill 800 spots.

Could be that a bunch of the 2,200 other kids may not return due to finances and other considerations.

Refunds on Spring room/board loom as likely.

Lots of stuff up in the air including Endowment principal and its Income generated going forward.

Pittsburgh football game which would have paid $400,000 is in serious doubt along with entire football season along with game ticket revenue/sponsorship revenue.

NCAA may declare that Fall athletes may be entitled to another year of eligibility(just as Spring 2020) in the likelihood the 2020 season is cancelled.

Cost abatement will be manadated,top-to bottom throughout UR community.

Unlike a State School,Crutcher can’t run to the Governor for Help.

Savvy UR leadership with know-how personnel will be key to weathering this CAT 5.

Hail to Hale!!!!!

One bit of good news - UR endowment was sitting on 9%+ cash before all this struck, which i understand is a good bit higher than many peers. That was from one of the Spider Management Principals.

How must ODU be feeling about the level of investment in football? Does Umass close football or come back to the CAA first?

Saw that. With major events like Wimbledon and British Open already cancelling ... and they are in July ... i'm growing skeptical that summer school will be happening.

In order for football to survive many schools may have to drop to D3.
For the umteenth time, if you want to play D1 basketball, if your school sponsors football it must play at the FBS or FCS level. No one who wants to remain a D1 school will drop to DIII football.

Think some dominoes falling here might land us in cost-containment football in Patriot League? Large State schools in CAA Football demanding exorbitant student fees to fund athletics like JMU, Towson, UD, SBU are in a very curious spot.

This is going to get wild.
