2020 Football Season-Good news/Bad news- Spiders hold off on football's Wednesday(7/15) report date

with great disappointment tonight I am announcing the indefinite postponement of the annual Spiders Football Pre-Season Opponents Countdown...

I've been doing this ramp up to the season for over 10 years...what the heck am I going to do to work through the dog days ahead?

for that matter my favorite time of the year will be without Richmond football for the first time since the late 60's...I'll sure miss the camaraderie and fellowship...

Until I figure out how to deal with this "so long for now".

Accurate. JMU’s entire athletic department is about to go up in smoke if they can’t play, and they know it. Your idea actually wouldn’t shock me if it happens, tbh.

I can’t see the NCAA having a FCS tournament. It already loses money and they can barely figure out travel in a normal year.

I don’t really see the angle left as the power conferences seem to be going to conference only, so there go the money games.

Ha!...that would be something, but I don't believe the series started until the 2009 season...my phone didn't have a camera in 2008...I had one of those Flip cameras made by Cisco, or Intel, I can't remember which...

those were surely the good ole days...Ms. Ward ultimately took over the players countdown for many years...when she did that I went to the Opponents Countdown series...

humbly, I will say there are some classic episodes from over the years, but none anyone would want to see twice!

COVID-19 has also taken out the annual Spider Gang watermelon feast for the team during pre season practice...

It's a sad mess for all Spiders fans.
