I guess I shouldn't be, but I'm shocked that there are 55 teams in FCS averaging more than 29 PPG.

Stony Brook has been a thorn in our side since Rocco. It's time.

Why is this? Does it have to do with their ability to take better advantage of Rocco's 3-4 defense and now Huesman's 4-2-5 better than others? It seems like this is the game where we are always talking about our 'gap fits not being fitted properly' etc, etc.

We opened as a 5 point dog.

Their RBs are built similarly and are quick:

#3 Nekhet 5-9,190-506 yards total(2 TDs)

#7 Lawton 5-10,215-Had 108 yds v JMU and 121 yds v Nova.500 yards total(7 TDs)

#28 White 5-11,210-460 yards total(5 TDs)

————

#4 QB Fields has size 6-2,195 and quickness.Has passed 98-188,1756 yds,10 TDs, 4 INTs.He threw for 318 yds v JMU and 320 yds v Nova.He operates out of the gun and can run.Has run for 265 yds(4TDs).

————

Their WRs are all similarly built:

#87Anderson-6-1,195:30/566/1TD

#86 Trent-6-1,195:19/428/0TDs

#5Constant-5-9,180:23/366/5 TDs

#81 Hellams-6-0,205:8/220/0TDs

IIRC, they ran all over us in our away games (2016 and 2018). That 2016 game derailed our season when we were Top 5 I believe. Kyle threw 3 picks and they returned a KO for a TD. In 2017 we outplayed them but 2 fumbles cost us dearly.

SB is a good, playoff caliber team who we have struggled with lately. I posted this same thought before both the Elon and Yale games but this game will give us another litmus test to where our team is headed. We will have to play well to beat SB...they aren't going to beat themselves. We bounced back nicely from the Elon debacle and it would be nice to see us play our best football over this 4 game stretch to finish the season against some strong competition.

It was good to see a dominate win, hope it gives these guys confidence to finish season on three more high notes.

Uh oh, we keep winning. Amazing, seeing as how our coach and AD suck, we are not committed to winning championships, and our president and students don't care about sports.

It sure looked like Mancuso took a cheap shot to the head. The SB player smash him with his forearms, right in the face. It is at the 43 second mark, above.

Nova lost to host UNH today,28-20.

Big W. Congrats to the staff for developing this young team into winners. Very happy for our players. Both sides of the ball playing well. The team looked energized on the sideline. Great time at Robins Stadium today! It sure is nice seeing the Spiders playing at a playoff level! Let’s keep it rolling.

Defense was angry today and it showed. Hitting people hard all over the place. Really impressive victory! I heard Robert Fish in the pregame say that Stony Brook's top three RBs all would be leading our team in rushing, with the yardage they had compiled this year. And then we absolutely shut them all down.

Everybody's feeling good here and you have to start with a negative post. Couldn't you have at least waited a day?

Lets be honest, we had about 4000 in the house for Homecoming on a beautiful fall day. Far more than the President and the students dont care about UR sports.

Impressive team win but the defense gets top kudos. Take away the QB hit that resulted in a penalty and 15 yards tacked on to the fluttering pass that goes to their guy and the bomb for a touchdown and we pitch a shutout against a team that put 35 plus on JMU and Villanova.

The Roughing the Passer call was bogus. A ridiculous call in my opinion.

That would seem to me to be a reason to fault the local fanbase, not the president. Obviously he is making sure the team has the facility and financial necessities to compete for the CAA championship, which to me is ample evidence he cares.

I don't blame students. Student attendance everywhere is declining.

Isn't the president there every game? I know he was last Homecoming, because he said hello to me in the donor booth.

I wonder how the vision is in 9th. I'm sure the landscaping is nice.

I was just expanding on your statement.

Until we are able to get more. Virginians into UR, the local fan base numbers will continue to decline due to the grim reaper factor.

Winning is the difference between 4000 and 8000 in attendance. Going to a UR game around our National Championship Run became an event. Much easier to make other decisions when only a mediocre team. Lot more energy in the stadium yesterday after Delaware win. If we win next weekend I bet a lot more fans will be making the trip to JMU for a first place showdown. If we win one of the next two, look for a sellout against WM with a rivalry game and playoff spot on the line. Winning makes all the difference!

Rocco had some winning teams, including one that made the final four. We still didn't fill the stadium.
Maybe our athletic department should consider a billboard.
