George Washington III - Michigan Transfer - Commit

If he is not in the rotation based on a few months of practice and you start off looking good and winning, then all good, but when we are playing like this a few games in, if he is healthy, I think we have to give a guy who has a great shooter reputation like that some minutes.
if a coaching staff sees a guy 5-6 days a week for 5+ months, I'll assume they know where he stands right now.
I'm not playing him over other guys based on high school rankings.

Opening Night Lineup - Just for fun

I am concerned the most about Tanner and Tyne. Most of the others are shooters who are just not making shots right now. Tanner has the 3rd most minutes, but has very little to show for it, and has only 1 assist with 6 turnovers. Tyne has the 2nd most minutes, is 4-16 from 3, and has 3 assists with 7 turnovers. Both are starting and getting good minutes, but just not making a positive impact right now.

I am ready to try:

Hunt
GW3
AP/Dusan
Robinson
Walz/Beagle

Soulis didn't look great vs Bucknell, but it will take a bit of time to get his sea legs - and I think we need to keep putting him out there for 5-10 minutes per game.
Really need to see GW3 get some minutes, can't believe the disparity between Mooney's hype + h.s. ranking vs his ability at this level can be such a chasm.
I think Walz will be fine - just needs to again stop thinking so much and play.
Roche has looked solid - but really we need Glou to be a taller version of him. Glou has not looked great, but again he has been in moth balls for two years - only playing garbage time. Like Soulis need to keep running Glou out to get his reps and hopefully be a postive player for us.
Still like Tyne, but he is not doing enough to justify the deficiency in length on defense when paired with Hunt.

Somehow, Mooney has all these guys - other than Hunt - really playing below their historical type production. Hopefully they get more comfortable and a couple become scorers or it could get really ugly.

Robinson - we need someone in the frontcourt besides Beagle that has some athleticism.

we deperately need shooting so I'm up for anything,
but either GW3 isn't healthy, or he's shown in the past 5 months that he's not one of our top 8. otherwise he'd be playing.

Caitlin Clark made Iowa women's bball the flagship bball sport. I have a feeling these women may take the matter into their own hands at UR. I have been a lifetime UR Men's BBall fan. But right now I am having a lot more fun at the Lady Spider games. And when we get into the top 20 and host a team like #4 ranked Texas at the Robins Center you guys will see what I mean. My rec is to get on the bus now. That way you can say you were a fan before we BLEW UP

They had a dozen local elementary schools show up to the Gardner Webb game. My ears are still ringing from the noise. But the ladies fed off it.
VCU does an elementary school day as well. This is seperate. It helps on two fronts. 1) Get a lot of fans to show up and support women's athletics. 2) Get some new people in the door to see a game for the first time, and maybe they return.

Or why not have a men's and women's doubleheader? But have them literally back to back. And at this point - I would put them men's game first, and women second - with hopes that some of the men's fans stick around to watch the women.

The Future is Bright

ha! thanks for ramping up the expectations...sounds like you're promising fans a lot...didn't someone say earlier in the season that the Prologue's should be patented as good medicine for insomnia!...sometimes I work better under pressure...it's a giant game, a great team of Championship players that have earned everything they've received...defeat the Indians and there could be even better times ahead...I'll do my best!

Go Spiders!
Yes, it will help with insomnia.
