Saw in RTD a blurb where coach Mooney said Zo could be available to play in the tourney. That is great news if true, just hoping he is ready to play. Could use his size of we get a GW Mason Rhody or Lasalle matchup.

Coach said cleared by one Doc, needs two more approvals on the radio show last night. I would think he will need to play his way back into shape.

even if he played in short bursts ... a few 4 minutes runs ... he's be an asset. it would be great to have him back if he's ready.

Conditioning will be an issue, but agree with Spiderman, if we can 10-15 minutes out of him, that is definitely an asset. It has been amazing during this run, that with our short bench that we have not had foul trouble issues. Of course, those issues could pop up at anytime and why the return of ANO would be so helpful.

Perhaps the training staff has had ANO on a stationary bike or similar so he can get some of his cardiovascular fitness back. I would imagine that if he was to play in the tournament, he would be getting into the offense/defense rotation and that would give him some time to catch his breath (when we are on offense) between substitutions. This is one time I think the O/D rotation could be a positive thing.

JOC reports that Zo is now practicing with team, wearing protective goggles. He is expected to play in conference tourney, but his playing time is unknown. As others state, it's a great insurance play for us, we are not as vulnerable to early fouls on a big. And against the bigger teams, Zo, is an equalizer.

Best case scenario is he returns to form hits his free throws and the team keeps the defensive aggressiveness it gained when he went out. Worst case is he disjoints the offense, misses critical free throws, and our defense reverts back to passively relying on him down low.

Here's to hoping for the former or like others said filling in time off the bench, since we could have three games in three days.

This is enormous. And yes, 7 or 8 minutes a game is all we need and would be a huge boost for the team.
