WLAX/MLAX Bracketology

I was just posting some scenarios in the other thread, but yeah, I largely agree with this at least as far as things affecting us. Assuming UVA is #1, I bet we play Duke while Utah or Air Force plays Notre Dame regardless of how those 2/3 seeds shake out. UR–Duke is an easy bus ride, so the NCAA will make sure that happens.

Friday 4pm Chapel Hill NC. Wonder if Sam Geiersbach is still hanging around Chapel Hill

Grading the Committee: Uncontroversial Bracket With Simple Explanations | USA Lacrosse Magazine

“…
PAYBACK TIME
Richmond at Virginia

It’s the only rematch of a regular season game, and what a forgettable contest that was — at least for Richmond, anyway. Virginia earned a 25-8 victory back on March 4, getting six goals from Xander Dickson to avenge last year’s 17-13 loss in Richmond.

The first round isn’t steeped in much postseason history; only three matchups that could be reprises of previous NCAA tournament encounters. Yale defeated Georgetown 19-16 in the 2019 first round. Duke beat Delaware in the first round in 2011. And Army and Maryland have split a pair of first-round games, with Army winning in 1993 and Maryland upending the Black Knights in 2004…”

NAMES TO KNOW

“…A Dalton Young, Richmond. In addition to forever being the answer to a trivia question (who is the first offensive player of the year in Atlantic 10 men’s lacrosse history), Young has 30 goals and 39 assists for the Spiders. He’s collected at least seven points in five of Richmond’s last eight contests...”

We looked great! So determined. So much energy! So much fun!

Camping near Chapel Hill this weekend. Really nice time.

Debating "commuting" to Charlottesville tomorrow. Might just enjoy it here, though. Good time with the kids.

Anyone else watching this mens game? I can't believe they're playing in these field conditions. Pools of water all over the place, players slipping/falling when trying to make any change of direction.

Until we become more competitive at the x we will continue to struggle against the elite teams. Too few possessions to run with the big guys.

UVA just looked physically bigger and handled the conditions much better than us. They were not slipping
where we slipped multiple times on the first cut. Coach C needs to have at higher priority of getting a
good face off man. Also the separation was in ball movement and player positioning. How many shots
did UVA get from within 20 feet of the goal and many point blank. Spiders would do well to emulate the
style of UVA.

Reason for rain delay was thunder and lightning which gave way to pouring rain. Virginia is an elite program. We had a great season and future looks good: we have skilled players and need for them to stay at Richmond.

Faceoffs continue to kill the program. Nothing to hang their heads on, UVA was the more talented team. Just wish we could find that elusive FOGO to help us get to the next level.

Yep. Uva is very good! It's a big jump to get to top 5 talent. Always aiming for more, but happy with our pretty consistent Top 20 program!
