Maybe we should have announced Mooney as the new president? But only if that was his only title?
if asked I hope we leave it up to the team instead of having fans decide we're too "embarrassed" to continue ... as if we're the ones playing out there or as if the team's wins and losses directly reflect on us.
I'm fine with the team deciding, of course. But also, the team does reflect upon those of us who are super invested in it. That's just a fact. Part of how many of us define ourselves is "Richmond Spiders fan."
We finished 13-8, lost the last 3. This team ain’t getting invited to anything. Season is over, pack it up.
I didn’t take Leggers comment that he was deciding for the team. I doubt anyone did except u. Of course the team would decide. Many teams have declined NIT for various reasons including not being happy with NIT. In virtually any year I’d say never turn it down. But this year would be exception...IMO. But I think moot point.
What if Mooney wasn’t the coach? Let the players coach themselves (we have some injured guys that could be the coaching staff). Why not let them truly have a players experience. Maybe they bomb out and lose big but maybe they have some fun. I’m sure I could find plenty of Hollywood examples where this works out 
Maybe UR can make a tournament at the Robins center with; UR, Hampden Sydney, Randolph Macon, Bridegewater, W&L, Ferrum, E&H, and Shenandoah. I’m sure that would be a tournament that Mooney would feel his guys could really “compete hard in” and “get a good feel about the game”.
while I quoted EL, I wasn't replaying to him alone. there are lots of posts saying just end the season, don't accept an NIT bid if we get one, I don't want to watch, I'm embarrassed, etc...
for a bunch of guys who say "I don't blame the players at all, it's all Mooney", some seem to be thinking more about themselves and their feelings than of the players when we lose. these seniors just played perhaps their last game. that can be heartbreaking.
