We have a very good football program

Three straight playoff appearances, two straight conference championships and a 20-3 CAA record with a 13 game CAA win streak speaks volumes about our football program. Some will say we play at a FCS level in a watered down league but the product we put on the field is something every fan should appreciate. Congratulations to our coaches and players for representing what a winning culture looks like no matter what obstacles are put in their path.

The only other FCS programs to win at least nine games each of the last three seasons are North Dakota State and South Dakota State. Those are very good programs to be associated. No one else in the conference has more than 16 conference wins in the regular season in the last three years. As you pointed out, UR has 20. The coaching staff deserves a lot of credit. The team deserves a lot of support. I hope there is a large and loud UR crowd on Saturday. It looks like it will be near perfect football weather.

First Team: Elia, Grant
Second Team: ZPS, Byrd, Glassmyer, Trusler
Third Team: Coleman, DeGennaro, Galloway, Traynor (D-ROY)
Honorable Mention: Salyers, Hayes

And Cosh wins COY.

This staff has done an incredible job in evaluating and recruiting high school talent. Kobie Turner, Tyler Funderburk, Malik Mustapha are all on NFL rosters. Amir Hall is playing at Michigan now. Jasiah Williams is doing great at Stony Brook. All have played at UR. They have also all transferred from UR. Unfortunately, transfers are bound to happen in this NIL era, but I hope we do the best job we can in retaining our best talents.

Jasiah Williams was instrumental in Cosh’s
Offensive success also. One of our few transfers that we really missed this year!
Hate he moved on. As luck would have it, Spiders had depth at WR.

I heard Huesman talking about him leaving in an interview and saying that he was happy he was having success at Stony Brook. He spoke very highly of Jasiah and his family and mentioned he had been here a long time and just wanted a change.
Who knows, he was from Thomas Dale, so maybe just wanted one year of college away from the area before going into the real world.
He even mentioned Cosh knew him and was excited to have him come up there.

This is the new era. You can take bigger chances and land kids that will star for a year or two than transfer. Our staff has done an excellent job embracing the change and finding the best possible talent available. Anyone coaching like it’s 1990s or 2010s is antiquated. Although the same concepts of doing right by players will never go out of style. HS coaches know where to funnel kids to programs that take care of players.
