might as well begin the historic celebration with one of the worst calls in the history of the 129 games...

I still believe this call and subsequent loss to the Indians may have cost us a home playoff game...

targeting penalties are a good step to protect players, but sometimes they are really tough calls...

this just looked like a really big hit!

It was a terrible call and it was a huge swing in the game. The QB was a runner and was trying to make a move instead of giving himself up.
The loss definitely cost us a seed and home game, although without Lauletta the quarterfinals was pretty much our ceiling, and we got there.

agree Choppin...

say Lauletta had not gone down and we had defeated the Indians...do you think our team that season was FCS Final Four, or even Championship game worthy?

I think it was probably Rocco's best team before the Lauletta injury...

As I remember that year we had to fly to ND, then turn around and fly to Washington State the next week and I swear I think I remember the week in between was exams week, I could be mistaken on the exams.
One thing for sure if we had gotten a seed, one of those trips would not have happened, that ended up being a brutal draw.

I generally don't like to play the hypothetical game, but yes. That was a very good team. It would have depended on the draw. JMU won the NC that year and none of their playoff games were as close as the game we played in November.

On the other hand, Rocco had one foot out the door before the W&M debacle, so it's hard to know how the boys would have performed, even with Kyle.
