Vs Saint Francis Opening game

Because until proven otherwise our basketball program is terrible..
Exactly - we have given them no other reason to think things will be different. The only thing we have going for us now is we have a lot of players returning - but remember, that is a lot of players returning from a 13 win team. Even Fordham - who has been terrible, has players returning - but they don't pick them to get better any given year. Not to mention - the teams that were good last year in the A10 have a lot returning as well.

I am not saying I agree with the assessment, but I can see where they are coming from.

Not sure how Nolan does preseason rankings, but he has us very low compared to other preseason rankings at 226. We have an average preseason ranking of 138, with a high of 73, according to https://www.masseyratings.com/cb/compare.htm
Nolan Formula (regular season results only):
2020 Wins = 2019 Wins - (2020 Scholarship Players Added - 2019 Scholarship Players Lost + Grad Transfers Not Granted 6th Year of Eligibility)
2020 Losses = 2019 Losses - Head Coaches with 20 Loss Seasons Retained

It seems pretty straightforward.

I guess we need to wait for more data before panicking about this

He REALLY doesn't like us. Has us going 1-17 against quadrants 1-3, but an impressive 11-1 against quadrant 4 teams. I can see the banner now - - - " Quadrant 4 Champions - - 2019-2020"

He has us on a 6-2 start against the Top OOC schedule in the conference, but then limping home 6-16 the rest of the way! If that happens, Moon man is out and all those returning seniors will probably catch up with each other next year at the ACC-Big 10 challenge!

Yeah

Honestly, I think Nolan only counted the 85 D1 vs D1 games on Tuesday night, and everyone else is the same as last March.

We will see if the predictions change in the next week...

This should assist the point spread

..Saint Francis is located in Loretto, Pa., about a four-and-a-half-hour bus ride from Richmond.

After the Red Flash plays at VCU on a Tuesday, they will bus back to Loretto, Pa., stay there Wednesday, and return to Richmond on Thursday in preparation for their Friday game at UR.

“So our guys can get to class, and because it’s such a short trip, relatively speaking,” said Krimmel.

According to Krimmel, a former two-time SFU captain and assistant coach, Saint Francis looked for a Wednesday game at VCU and a Friday meeting with UR so the Red Flash could stay in Richmond, but schedule shifting that was required to play VCU and UR prohibited that...

On Friday night. If guys like Gilyard and Grant are not sufficiently amped to play this game after our last 2 opening game debacles they have been a part of, than we really have a motivation problem. I expect Grant and Gilyard know this and will come out with a fire in their belly and this game is not going to be all that close. I would predict a 10-12 point win and whatever the final spread the last 5 minutes will not be in doubt that we are going to win this game.
