VCU Trolls

I think they’ve actually been pretty tame...
Ok, no worries. Obviously they’re not annoying to everybody.
I’m sure they are great guys, they have great families, they are great representatives of their university, they compete and practice hard too.
I’ll just sign off for awhile until we find out if our AD is part of the problem or part of the solution.
I don’t really get why they hang around. Again, speaks to their character.
Whatever smack they talk, we deserve it. Year after year, coach after coach, they keep winning and going to the NCAA tournament. Plus a great band and a good looking dance team to boot. Meanwhile we are stuck in the mud with Mr Nice Guy.

They've had a few posts delete here and there; honestly most of their stuff is tamer than our own. Haven't received any reports, so the community has not notified the mods of anything needing cleanup.

At this point Ive turned into a VCU troll. They have a program that should be respected. They are relative in March every year. They make UR basketball seem like DIII.
We deserve to be trolled. Want to get rid of them? Win more games! Oh, and getting rid of Mooney would help, too.
Heh, we have several UR fans on the VCU board and sometimes I feel as you do, but most of the time it's just basketball fans talking competition. I used to only glance around here because I knew some of the UR players through basketball and through their parents, but I never posted. Trolls , I feel that really more reflects those hiding and not being clear that they are opposing fans. Trolls or just hoops fans, neither should come on an opposing team's board and talk trash and doing so should have them blocked. I do come to see what's developing with Nick's recovery, with Moon Man, and such and often jump in. To be honest I was going to intentionally come on here if you guys beat us just for the reason mentioned above. Instead I came on sort of quietly and just wanted to recognize JG's effort and the fact that we escaped. Best of luck from a "troll" ( and an alumnus of UR ) in getting your wish of change this offseason. I do think Davis is your man and have been told to not be surprised by that. Also think you guys can get through the first two rounds and into Friday.

As for the A10 tourney, thanks for the backhanded compliment, we could win against hideous, terrible, hideous Fordham and SLU. So could Randolph Macon I am quite sure.

I truly didn't mean it that way. I said it the same way that I said a few days ahead of the Georgetown game that I felt you guys could threaten them based on strengths and weaknesses. Truth is that UR has the weapons to threaten anyone, but not the depth or the believe in themselves as a team to get through the tough times late in games. Is that a result of injuries and transfers, a result of leadership? I don't know, but do know that if bad luck occurs over and over again then you have to look for the common denominator. I hope that I don't make backhanded compliments, try to be transparent but admit that the dark side can leak out time to time. The only thing I advise ( nobody ask) is that if UR retains Mooney for another year then fans (sincere or not) need to get behind him and just stay quiet about the wish for change through next season. That will help things way more than negative public campaigns. I also felt he would be back until very recently and also know that a week from now it will all be clear.

If Mooney is back you are going to see a little of A) Fever pitch of ramped up activity against Mooney and Hardt and B) A severe drop off of fans that can muster the energy to care any longer. We already have this. So as much as folks can hope to rally behind Mooney, that time has come and gone.
