Yes, A-10 needs to play hardball if they are thinking of leaving. I personally don't care if they stay, yes, they are good for the league, but they are VCU so would rather them be in some other league.And if I'm the A-10, I tell them to GTFO with the rest of their sports if they want to move their basketball program.
... and Memphis has been looking to move on.FAU and Memphis are solid, but after that the AAC is nothing to write home about compared to the A-10.
Careful what you wish for. Don’t want this to affect the stability of our league. Also, who do we get to replace them? Most likely some poor academic school or one full of crazies like Liberty.Please, just, go.
Yeah, with Houston at #4.AAC - 7th conference ranking;
A10 - 11th conference ranking!

Or maybe don’t replace them unless there’s a really good candidate.Careful what you wish for. Don’t want this to affect the stability of our league. Also, who do we get to replace them? Most likely some poor academic school or one full of crazies like Liberty.
Word on the street was College of Charleston being next in line I thought.Careful what you wish for. Don’t want this to affect the stability of our league. Also, who do we get to replace them? Most likely some poor academic school or one full of crazies like Liberty.
And, Cincinnati 45 and UCF 64. So, now, without them, you have to go all the way down to 94 (Wichita St.) to find the 2nd highest rated team from last year (Memphis is at 17).Yeah, with Houston at #4.
McLaughlin's ego knows no bounds.Could be a ruse but I doubt it - Quote from VCU AD from RTD paywall article .. “The reports that we have engaged in ‘serious discussions’ with the American Athletic Conference have no merit," McLaughlin said on Thursday.
"I can understand why another conference would have interest in bringing VCU into its membership, given our broad-based championship success and our national brand. We will continue to monitor the national landscape of conference realignment.”"
