I would like to clarify that I had no problem with the fact that Mo did that. This was a fantastic game against two arch-rivals. Emotions were running high and he was showing school pride after a difficult win. He flashed his VCU shirt, and the students booed him back. That is the circle of life when it comes to playing against your most hated rival. If a player of Richmond were to do that at VCU and the fans at VCU booed/jeered him, I wouldn't have a problem with any of it. I would still consider it unsportsmanlike. Same way I would consider not shaking the coaches hand at the end of the game unsportsmanlike. However, I wouldn't necessarily view it as wrong or bad to do. Its about the context and circumstances it took place in. I love seeing passion coming from the players, coaches, fans, etc. because it solidifies how much this rivalry means to the city. It's about bragging rights and VCU got us this game. What Mo did not only represents the importance of this game, but only adds to this fantastic rivalry that Jon Rothstein tweeted as being one of the most underrated in the nation. I hope that when we play at VCU, we dunk on them again last second and have their student section boo! That's what VCU-UR does. We want to beat each other and make the other team/fans remember it. That's why the Black and Blue Classic is so special.
