Two positive signs from yesterday. One is that Richmond's +10 is 11 strokes better than the next best Patriot league team score (Boston University at +21). Promising sign towards strongly competing for another title come next spring. Also, glad to see our Freshmen - Naomi (+8) and Emily (+10) - score well in their college debut.

Let's keep the momentum going to the final round today. It's a long season, but we're off to a great start.

Patriot League only results from the first two rounds of W&M Invitational:

Richmond+10
Boston University +21
Navy +33
Bucknell +42

Hold 2nd spot at Bucknell hosted FL event with 18 holes remaining

Good luck to the Lady Spiders Golf Team today and tomorrow as they seek their 4th consecutive conference championship.

Lady Spiders four back with one round to go.
Victory would send them to NCAA regional for fourth consecutive year.
Two senior starters could go to NCAA every year of their careers, that would be quite the feat.
Sophie Dipetrillo (Sr) is one shot off the lead at four over and I think if she wins she would be eligible for regionals even if team does not make it as an individual players, but not absolutely positive.
LIzzie Reedy (So) tied 6th six back
Annie Collom (Sr) tied 10th
Naomi Mitchell (Fr) tied 10th
Emily Ward (Fr) had a tough first round but bounced back with a 77 today and had one of the top four scores in the afternoon round which saved the Spiders a stroke toward the team score
Alley Stephan (SO)cut four shots off her morning round as well.
Kind of like the fact the Lady Spiders have four starters returning next year.
Good luck tomorrow ladies.

Annie Collom shoots -1 in 3rd session.UR finishes in 3rd spot in Patriot tourney.BU takes title with USNA in 2nd slot.Sophie DiPetrillo finished +11 .Lizzie Reedy as well as Annie +12 over the 54 hole tourney.
Sophie, the defending Patriot League champion, was the top Spiders finisher on the individual leaderboard, tying for fourth in the field of 35 with a score of 227 (+11) and earning First Team All-Patriot League honors. Annie and Lizzie tied for sixth at 228 (+12) and were both named Second Team All-Patriot League.

BU is building a formidable program and will be very tough out in the next couple of years.

Freshman Hanako Kawasaki was named Patriot League Golfer of the Year and Patriot League Rookie of the Year after she erased a two-shot deficit in the final round to claim the individual title with a score of 222 (73-76-73). She made three birdies on Sunday, including a crucial one at the 17th hole to help the Terriers hang on to the win.

Sophomore Katerina Doleckova saved her best golf of the year for this weekend. She tied for fourth with a score of 227 (76-77-74) and joined Kawasaki as a First Team All-Patriot League honoree. That 54-hole score matches her collegiate low total which she set last year.

Juniors Abby Parsons (76-75-79) and Zhangcheng Guo (82-78-70) both earned Second Team All-Patriot League recognition after they tied for ninth with a score of 230. Guo was outstanding on Sunday, firing a two-under 70, the low round of the day. She was four-under for her round through 15 holes as she charged up the leaderboard. Parsons carded a 79 on Sunday as part of her fantastic weekend. Junior Annie Sritragul made an important par on 18 to finish Sunday with a 78 for a 54-hole total of 235 (79-79-78) and finish in a tie for 16th.

On the other hand, if you have a daughter who can play golf, there might be an opening for her at Holy Cross.

Hats off to BU, they got of to an incredible start in the third round. As I followed along on the live scoring they were 21 or so up on the Lady Spiders.
On the eight hole their senior finally makes a error and double bogeys the hole and immediately follows in up on the next whole with a hole-in-one which she follows up two birbies on the next three holes and they go a total of like six under as a team for the day on the front nine. Reading an article a couple of days ago that stated this is the first tourney they played this year with no one injured or ill.
I did like the fire in the lady Spiders on the back nine, our four counting scores were even for that nine holes and three of the scores were the younger players.Pulled to within 7 or so at one time after being down roughly 20 at the turn. I like our chances just as much as BU.
Our young players all seemed to let a double bogey jump up in every round. Annie and Sophie had none between them the whole tournament that I remember seeing. Our younger players will learn a lot from having watched this and learn from it.
Congrats to Annie and Sophie on great careers as Spiders, all conference for each year is just outstanding.
Hope all the seniors enjoyed their time here and the Richmond degrees serve them well in life, so well done ladies.

What does that mean? Did she leave for more money in another endeavor? She was having success and they just built all those new offices and practice facility for both the men and women. What else is going on?

Some people get fed up with continual micromanagement by a former amateur player who happens to be an Asst AD.No golf job in pipeline.Nice person, knowledgeable, winner.Keep your eye on our Swim coach who may be getting pissed by continually rubbing 2 sticks together to make things work with few resources.Coach just lost a kid to Bucknell, ironically.
