Updated Roster

So many changes and commits... I can't keep up. What's our roster look like now???
It looks terrible. Just look the hell away. We lost 2 of our best players and replaced them with 2 guys that literally no one else in D-1 basketball was looking at. One more year and this will all be over, is what I keep telling myself. Maybe that is for my own personal sanity.

And one other note. I cannot say where I got this information, but have it on good authority: If Gustavson beats him out, Schneider may be moved to a "double redshirt" season. I do not fully understand what mechanism this would fall under, but am told it is a real possibility.

Rob Jones would use the double redshirt frequently during his previous job at the head coach of the a high school JV team. One of the many talents of Rob Jones.

Wojcik and Sal are the only two I see potentially having an impact this year. The others are developmental players in my opinion

You should be very familiar with the double redshirt, we do it all the time.

I will say, when guys red shirt one season, and then 14 games go by the next with 0 minutes - I start wondering: To double redshirt or not to double redshirt, That is the question.
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of sitting on the bench,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles and declare a double redshirt.

Pretty sure that means he’ll be transferring. Which is fine, there needs to be some attrition from this year’s freshman class, seeing there are so many between true and redshirt freshman. Let the cream rise to the top.

I hope the coaching staff realizes this as well and are recruiting for more than the one open spot that will be created by JJ graduating.

no, it's just 23 being funny. there's obviously no double RS and no inside info here.

Is that allowed? I thought if you were going to have one opening, you were only allowed to recruit one player and only allowed to make one offer...;)

The ole Mooney Double redshirt. Sit one, sit two, transfer to lower-level?

OK, this is starting to sound like one of our "great" April 1st posts,

the kind that absolutely befuddle 50% of our board, and antagonize the remaining 50%. And, only a few posters get a real laugh out of it. My hope is that Bryce S. is working very hard on his outside shooting so that he can push one of the new guys into red-shirting, so that they can see what it's like. I suspect that one year of red-shirting is enough for anyone, even if we have had a few guys who seemed destined to head in that direction.

Am hoping that our current "3-man red-shirt brigade" (Bryce/Thomas/Phoenix) has some talents that have been developing over the past 8-10 months. If not, it could be a long season.

Yes, one would thnks redshirts would be improved and bursting at the seams to play, but never seems to be that way in our program. GG the exception, but that was medical obviously, and had a lead proven himself somewhat the year prior.

But yes Oldie, one would think Bryce has a leg up on Wojcik and ,Gustavson.
