From today's game notes...we're undefeated on Leap Day since the Truman administration. Book it.
The Spiders have won five straight Leap Day games -- the last in 2012 vs Dayton -- and haven’t lost on Leap Day since 1948 (to William & Mary).

Game predictions from various stat sites:

KenPom: 76–64, 87% chance of victory
Torvik: 76–63, 89% chance of victory
Massey: 76–64, 85% chance of victory

Handling Mitchell is obviously going to be key...he's going to take 15-20 shots and haul in a bunch of rebounds, so we need to throw some bodies at him and be physical or he's going to make us pay. (He may still make us pay.)

Are you sure that isn't KenPom: 76–64, 87% chance of victory?

73-70 sounds like last game, and 68% sounds like last game before it was played...

Yes, I'm now an idiot who can't read across a line of a table.

I've been gone too long.

You know I was going to post that SFSpidur returned recently without skipping a beat. No explanation. Just bringing it. Impressive. But actually it's good to see he's a little rusty. Sort of like the Spiders when they have just a week off. Which is not good to see.

Not at all.

I'm just glad I can be a good practice player to help the first string stay sharp...

We dont need to just win... we need to dominate this team. Its obvious the NET puts emphasis on MOV and there is always the eye test. Don’t let them have a chance Spiders. Dominate!!

I've always been a just win guy, not worried about winning ugly, but, you're not wrong here. I think the committee will be watching a lot of these games down the stretch. They do care how you look. A couple wins like we had at home against VCU heading into the Duquesne game would certainly help.

I think we should blow this team out of the water - Tre Mitchell is just one guy. What is McCall going to do when Bergeron runs his Woodstock pipeline dry?

Wonder what 4700 thinks of McCall, I know he had opportunity to scout him for a couple days in Mohegan.

I went out to dinner and missed the second half. Sal fouled out in 4 minutes of floor time?

Well-rounded, easy victory. Hopefully we got some guys some rest...couple of big games to finish out the regular season.

The guys who got rest were the poor schmos on the end of the bench. We had a 26 point lead with NINE minutes to go in the game and "the master" puts them in, one at a time, with about three minutes to go so that the last guy gets a whopping 31 seconds. But hey, I know what you are thinking, 26 points can disappear in, oh I don't know, maybe an hour and a half if richmond just sits down on the court.
I guess this is why "the master" is getting the big bucks and you know those three guys are appreciative because if they had played any longer there might have been some serious cardiac consequences.
Yes I think the starters played quite well against a very young very outmatched team. I just which "the master" had a slightly broader appreciation for all of the players on the team.

We needed to come out tonight and make a statement to stay in the bubble conversation and that's what we did. You might not like it, but the fact is if we had let off the gas too early and won by 10 or 12 the win would look much less impressive to an NCAA tournament committee member who might not have watched the whole game. Sadly we don't have much margin for error right now and getting the walkons 5 minutes instead of 2 cannot be a priority.

Truthfully Mooney did one of his best jobs of the season spreading minutes around to all the scholarship guys with only Gilyard getting more than 30 minutes. Nice job by all tonight taking care of business.

Agreed that we couldn't let off the gas. At this stage of the season and with the position we're in, we need to make as convincing a case as possible. And we still managed to have nine guys with at least 12 minutes, so think that's about the best we could do spreading things among the top guys. Nice to see Woj, Gus, Burton, and Grace all get solid minutes off the bench.

I can't believe this is a serious complaint.

This sounds pretty racist to me. The “master” is obviously pretty demeaning. Who do you think you are?

That was as thorough an ass-kicking as we've had in awhile of an allegedly non-horrible team. UMass looked like they had no idea what to do out there. Golden was scoring at will. Mitchell scored pretty much all his points in garbage time. The rest of their guys looked like they need to eat some hamburgers.
