Transfer

Jeremiah Brown. WR. Had a UVA offer and appears to have 3 years of eligibility left.

Dave Clawson<--> Russ relationship might have helped here.

As a KR he has very nice speed, long strides and shifts well.

Four-time all-conference pick in track ... Earned all-state in track and was the Guilford County champion in the 300 meters ... Holds school record in the 300 meters (35.1) and the 400 (48.7).

Mmm... remember the soy burgers at the Refectory? Had to have been at least 10% beef. Didn't get much better once the Dining Hall opened.

I'm thinking that with the addition of Jeremiah Brown we more than make up for the defection of Thyrick Pitts to the chickens. Jeremiah was certainly much more highly recruited by Div 1 programs.
And Jeremiah should be the happier of the two because at least he will have a QB who can throw the football.

Great addition! Would really like to see an interior defensive lineman transfer in.

That's because 95% if the students are vegans.
Well I certainly am not. We've got a great steakhouse on campus, a couple burger joints, a qdoba, chick fil a, a great home style breakfast place, we've got everything you name it.

I just thought that because of the focus of the school on agriculture and agronomy, that the vegetarian and vegan population would have their special needs as a priority. A friend of mine who teaches there states that tofu is the pièces de résistance of the school's cafeteria offerings, not the red meat.

Is Brown a hardship case? Can he play right away? I would love for him to be on the receiving end of Kyle Lauletta' s senior year.

Ya I guess there are plenty of vegan options on campus but I try to stay far away from those places.

Should be able to play immediately transferring from Wake (FBS) to Richmond (FCS).

Lord knows we need it. Kick offs to the opposing 40 was killing us.
Our kicker was directed by Rocco to kick short. That was not due to the inability to kick long by the kicker rather Rocco's strategy.

Nothing against Trau but would not be surprised to see him supplanted. Don't know if the new guy is good, but Trau missed multiple kicks within 35yds in the two practices I attended in addition to 2 being blocked, and a missed PAT in the spring game. If he is able to perform lights out again like he did last year great, but he didn't look like the same kicker in the spring. If the new guy can consistently pin the opponent deep that is great too, we've missed that ability recently.

Trau was a 1st team All American in 2016 on multiple All American teams including Walter Camp. Many thought when Ricky Seegers was signed last Spring from ODU that he would supplant Trau.Didn't happen.Except for a 50 yd FG v UVa followed by a recurring groin injury we didn't hear much from Ricky.Trau had a great year last year even without a football scholarship.Competition at that kicking position is a good thing.I see Trau and Chereson as complementary to one another.

When you score a ton of points,as we will in 2017,our kickers will be busy with continuous kickoffs, continuous PAT's and 3-4 FG's every game.

Who the number one holder this year? I'm sure that part of Trau' s success last year was the excellent chemistry he had with Wil McComb. And there's a learning curve with the new guy, that's why we have spring practices.

Trau was a great kicker last year and came through when we needed him. In my mind, I see him being the #1 FG and PAT kicker, but I do foresee a different approach on kick-offs to take advantage of a good leg and not allow opponents to start at their 40 or better. I have no doubt the new staff is very aware of our shortcoming on field position relative to kick-offs. I think we will see a much better result this season.

I heard through the grapevine that UVa may not be allowing some transfers to talk to Richmond because we have a game there next year. Incredibly pathetic.

Let's see the kid is not good enough to play for them, but they don't want to have to play against them. That makes sense!

Yes - funny thing huh? - after last year's game the Hoos are "scared" of all things involving Richmond Spiders...........................
