A couple reasons typically surface on high profile recruits, Mooney 's style of offense and his recent record. Kids today want to play a more open less structure offense. Kids watch UNC, Duke, UK, Villanova and think they are talented to play that style. We do not but a lot of our peers try to imitate it so they choose otherwise. Time and time again.
We are spending more money on basketball and have far better facilities than both and we offer a far better education than Umass. Perhaps he wants to study in an urban area like DC at GW but the rest of the finalists don't suggest that being a reality.
This is just our "normal" now. Lack of decisiveness with our basketball coaching situation will do nothing but make our hole deeper to dig out of.
Exactly, this is our normal. Mooney had a difficult time recruiting coming off back to back NCAA's, I can only imagine how it is now when we are coming off a 12 win season, predicted for another bottom of the A-10 finish, and with everyone knowing our coach is on the hot seat.
He put himself and our program in this position and now we all will see the net impact of it. Buckle up folks, it is going to be a rough year and there are going to be a lot of recruits we really want, who will take their services elsewhere.

97, I am ready to ride out the storm. I have no choice. My biggest fear is who Hardt selects next for coach. Scratch that. Biggest fear is Moon does take advantage of this weak schedule and uses this to sell Queally, who in turn waves his big checkbook at Hardt.
Last year was bottom out, and this year's schedule is weak, so the win total can't go anywhere but up. The questions involve the actual quality of play, the quality of the team, and the status of the program. As you imply, do a few more wins fool certain people into thinking that the program is healthy - time will tell.
