Toledo 12/11

Yes, but is good offense determined by how he scored?
Wilson should be a driver but he takes and misses many outside shots.
He does that, because he has been coached to do so. He is a good shooter. He will find his shot. At some point Zay and Dji will be called on to take over games. They will do it and they will need to be prepared.

Wondering what attendance will look like. First weekend game of the year, but my assumption is that students are finished with the semester, or at least close? Hoping for a good turnout.

I though the crowds were pretty good for the 3 mid week games so expect a large crowds other than less students at Sat night - plus they are giving away kid tix basically ..

Mooney can't manage the roster with only 8 good scholarship players. Anyone expecting him to manage this roster effectively is smoking some really good shit. Looking forward to the post game presser when he says he needs to find more time for Dji, Crabtree, and/or Goose. Meanwhile Sherod will be out there for 15 minutes playing on 1 leg. Gilly will be completely gassed playing all 40 minutes. Grace and Grant will do there switcheroo game for 30/10.

Y'all know this is what is gonna happen, right. Mooney is as predictable as the sun rising in the east and setting in the west. It's a Saturday game as well, which means Mooney wears his blue socks/brown shoes and also drinks from his tiny sippy cup at the scorer table.

Yes agreed but Goose is much more under control than Wilson on his drives.
Goose is clearly the best of the 3 in finishing at the rim. Zay and Dji have better handle and vision. and none of the 3 have proven yet to be the guy you want as option 1, 2 or 3 in taking perimeter shots.

but I think Goose is the more finished product (no pun intended). Zay and Dji have a lot of upside.

well stated...I would only say "proven" at finishing at the rim...as of now, at least where Dji is concerned. He is capable but as you guys have seen in his short time, Dji will not take risks and is always looking to make the "right" basketball play. This also can frustrate me, the fans, or his coaches who want him to be more aggressive at times, which is a valid "want". As his role expands/changes this year but more likely in the future, I think he will show us his capability of finishing at the rim if needed. Agree with you on everything else for sure. I think Zay is a little more of a risk-taker which gets him into trouble sometimes, but he's def not afraid to take it to the rim.

I see we are ranked 340th for offensive rebounding out of 350. Air Force is ranked 350th. Hmm, what do they have in common?

But, we are 40th in points per possession, so it shouldn't matter how we get the points. If our system is set up to not get very many offensive rebounds and we get enough points on our possessions without offensive rebounds, who cares what our ranking is in offensive rebounds? If our offense were bad, if we missed a lot of shots, and had a poor offensive efficiency ranking, then yes, we would need more offensive rebounds. But, we are 40th in offensive efficiency so I certainly wouldn't change things just to try to get a few extra offensive boards a game.

This approach has yielded 56% winning percentage over 17 years, no A10 regular season championships , and no NCAA appearances since 2011.

You ok with this? Best we can do? Best we can hope for?

Don’t know if you guys caught it, but in the pre-departure interview, JOC asked Mooney if he thought these games are an audition of sorts for Grace, Sal, and Goose for coming back next year, and Mooney replied with a bit of a chuckle, “who’s auditioning, me or them?”

Way to get the team up for a game Moondog. OMG what a disaster he is as a coach. Teams are suppose to come out with enthusiasm and confidence and blow teams out of the gym on their home floor. This is pathetic and it happens often. Nuts.

Down 23-16 at the 10 minute mark is a hell of a lot better than the 16-2 deficit at the 15 minute mark. Sherod looks pretty good so far

Starters have 6 points. Shooting 1-16

bench has 18 points. Shooting 6-10

More sherod and Crabtree, less Wilson and Cayo. And tell Grant to park it in the paint and make a layup

Man, this is completely pathetic. All 5 year guys should resign and let the new underclassman play. And Mooney should as well.

Toledo doesn’t start anyone over 6’7. Pathetic that we keep settling for threes every single possession. And gave up 41 points to them in a half
