This is really funny. The humor we get from our own commentators is sometimes really good. Trump has really become an unhealthy obsession for some of our friends here on Spidernation.
Almost back to where it was under Biden, when the economy was booming. Almost. And in the meantime, I lost six months of growth.
The price of gas is up almost 60 cents a gallon out here since Trump took over, though. I was thinking about buying a new car, since mine is 23 years old. But I saw today Toyota is raising its prices because of the tariffs. So I probably won't.
So I guess the Cheeto saved me some money, using DOGE and GOP economics.
Too bad, mine is doing great and the price of fuel is lower than this time last year. Thought you were an EV guy, fuel cost being irrelevant. Hang is there, the market is soon to reach a new high.

The price of gas may be lower than it was in June of 2024. It's sure as hell is not lower than it was in Nov. of 2024. I keep records. I paid $3.17 on Nov. 10, just after election day. Today the same station was at $3.89, having gone up about 10 cents after Trump's little Iranian fiasco.

Not sure about politics, not sure about my IRA. But in February 2023, I decided that since I had 100% equity in my primary residence that I should take a loan for 75% of the equity at 3.25%, and use the proceeds to buy Nvidia at $20/share.

Did you actually do that? Holy cow that is a gutsy move and a shrewd move. NVDA has been growing at 400% per year in revenue. It is amazing what it has done. It also sounds like you made that move before the spike in interest rates. That takes balls. NVDA has a near monopoly in the chip sector for AI and it has software that enables the use of the chips. You can't use the hardware without the software, so there is a built in competitive advantage. As NVDA was growing, the business commentators on Fox Business were discussing the growth trajectory. (I didn't really listen to them until 2024). NVDA has increased 10 fold since 2023. Very nice.

The national average gas price this week is $3.22, up from $3.19. That's not decreasing.
Oregon hasn't raised its gas tax by 60 cents in the last few months.

In the last 2 weeks the station I visit. regular price gas went from $2.89/g to $3.19/g.
Three DOJ attorneys who prosecuted Jan. 6 cases are fired, none for cause. Do it on a Friday, so the people responsible can go hide for the weekend and hope people forget. Like Nixon's Saturday Night Massacre.

As an aside, I live in a very red area, for a long time you could not go into a waiting area that was not on Fox; Dr's, auto repair, entertainment, etc. People started complaining, haven't seen Fox in a waiting room for months, heard several tell customers would not change back, to many complaints, lots of food channel and HGTV.

I can assure you it's not a "supposed" increase. Gas was $3.17 on Nov. 10. It's presently $3.89. The cost of a gallon of gas does not increase by 72 cents because of a shift to "summer blend." And the switch to summer blend happens well before the end of June.
And you believe a change in the administration is the reason for suckers in blue states paying ridiculous prices for fuel. Today the national average for gasoline is $3.194. Checking a couple blue states, California $4.598 and Washington $4.437. As much as you would like to make in political, it isn’t.
It's always political when gas prices and the deficit rise when a Democrat is president. It's never political when gas prices or the deficit rises under a Republican president (which it ALWAYS does).
