Still active. Career officer. Not really tied to Fagan as was only on her staff for less than a year, but he liked her. Got to visit a lot of countries in that time.

He will be fine. He is 6' 4'', 280 pounds (no fat...I'm jealous), smart with a winning personality. Cuts quite a notable figure in dress uniform. He is mine, but would say he is an impressive young man even were he not.

Will take this a little further - The Coast Guard does more with less than any other agency/service I know. Fewer than 60,000 of them, but when disaster strikes they always seem to be the folks that have their stuff together from the gitgo.

One of my nephews is a USCGA grad (98, I think) and isa lifer. He's presently in DC and will be sent to Taiwan as an attaché in the near future for 2 or 3 years.

USCG is terrific. Served with them for a time as a Navy Chaplain and enjoyed every minute of it. They have many small boat stations dotting the coastline and one of our goals was to visit as many of those as possible. KE Spider am sure your influence had a large part in the way your son turned out. All the best to him.

Pete Hegseth proved yesterday that he is the most unqualified Secretary of Defense ever. He said that Ukraine could in no way expect to regain the real estate that it has lost to Russia, and said that Ukraine would not be admitted to the NATO alliance. Great job by Pete to give up these bargaining positions that the US and/or Ukraine had in trying to negotiate a settlement to end the war. Total unforced error and lack of competence.

Legger - is it too much trouble to not use the name of Jesus Christ as an expletive? Surely your vocabulary is larger and more imaginative than that. In an earlier post you mentioned other religious traditions but Christainity is the one you choose to besmirch. This is a simple request to stop doing what is offensive to some other posters.
