The Trump Administration

As I read these posts and the emotions in them, see it is going to be a long four years. Everyone take your heart meds. o_O

Thanks for the advice, KE. You are correct, its been less than 2 weeks and already feels like 4 years. Hopefully my heart meds will mitigate the outrage that I feel with having this pathetic excuse for a leader running our country.

Regarding the plane crash this evening with a U.S. Army helicopter, Pete Hegseth tonight per the Washington Post: "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the Defense Department is “actively monitoring” the situation. “Poised to assist if needed,” he wrote on X." Poised to assist if needed? Dude is SecDef and this is his response. Pitiful.
Hegseth is a DUI hire.

Lol. And you my friend bring Alfred E. Neuman to mind.

This is definitely the guy I want leading the country in a time of crisis.

Oh no, unlike our Mad Magazine friend I'm plenty worried. For good reason. Trump is going to ruin the country, again.

The president's press secretary wasn't wearing her Klan robe and hood when she said this but she may as well have been.

"When you're flying with your loved ones, do you pray that your airplane lands safely and gets you to your destination or do you pray that the pilot has a certain skin color? I think we all know the answer."

The pilot of virtually every single major US airline crash in the past 50 years has been a white male.

The Wall Street Journal just ripped Trump a new one over these tariffs and the National Association of Home Builders sent him a letter explaining that they will increase the cost of new housing nationwide at a time when the need for new affordable housing is at a critical tipping point. But this idiot doesn't understand Econ 101, so he's running us straight into the ground.

Trump is still insisting that the foreign countries who import goods to the US will pay the tariffs. He's either stupid or thinks his minions will believe his garbage, probably both. He wants the tariffs to generate revenue so he can give billionaires more tax cuts.

The top five purchasers of U.S. goods exports in 2022 were: Canada ($356.5 billion), Mexico ($324.3 billion), China ($150.4 billion), Japan ($80.2 billion), and the United Kingdom ($76.2 billion). U.S. goods exports to the European Union 27 were $350.8 billion.

How long will it take our economy to recover from these tariffs, Never good buiness to piss off your best customers.

Canadian provinces are going to pull American-made alcohol products off their shelves starting Monday. Big hit to America distillers/brewers, in the range of $1 billion.

Canadians are the nicest people in the world, and have been our staunchest ally for centuries. Yet Fatso has pissed them off in less than two weeks.

More winning.

Wood - I have to congratulate you for constantly referring to Trump as Fatso. It took me a while to warm up to the nickname, but now I'm 100% on board. One - it's an old school insult and thus, appropriate for the oldest guy ever elected President. Two- It's an insult he can understand because of its simplicity. Let's face it - the guy is really dumb. Three - it is a direct assault on perhaps the most vainglorious person in America. He'd never admit he's a fat ass, but deep inside I'm pretty sure he knows he is. So I just wanted to say kudos for your nickname selection.

President Trump is seeing what is at stake in Ukraine. Russia is after the rare earth metals in Eastern Ukraine and Trump is willing to supply arms, with payment secured by those same metals.

Mature attitude that will no doubt close divisions and move us forward as a Nation.

Oh, you mean like the Republicans who had signs "F... Biden" and then started the code for same with "Lets Go Brandon" on t-shirts and stickers, mostly on the back windows of trucks? Or the Republicans who called the Obamas the "monkees in the White House"?

Don't think you complained about those mature attitudes, surely they closed divisions and moved us forward as a Nation.

KE - I don't think I've ever used a pejorative on this board to refer to Trump, but I could be wrong. I don't think my appreciation of someone else's nickname for Trump is hardly going to spread disunity throughout the land. I will happily defend Biden when appropriate - and criticize Trump - to anyone who is willing to engage in a fact-based discussion. I'm a regular at a local restaurant and there is a MAGA sympathizer who regularly wants to engage in a discussion. It is simply astonishing at how low-information he is. He's the typical MAGA guy I encounter - plenty of opinions and hardly any facts.

Pleeeze. Condemn both. Juvenile on both counts. Belittles the Office of the Presidency regardless of which party occupies it.

Governance is all about policy, not name calling which is ridiculous, unseemly, divisive, and totally unnecessary.

My posts have dropped bc there is little hope of serious policy discussions here. It is all jibes.

Trump bragged today about how great he acted in releasing water in northern California to southern California. The truth is that what he ordered did nothing to help the wildfire areas, there is no way the released water could get to those areas. Instead, it is the water that is supposed to be stored for farmers to use in the dry summer months to water their crops, and his action threatened to flood certain areas. He has to know by now what a stupid move he made when ordering the water to be released yet he still lied about it and bragged about what a great thing he did. Typical Trump.

Having it occupied by a convicted felon and one who incited an insurrection honors the office?

The conviction will be overturned. You know this.

Cuomo said the case would have never been brought were not the Defendant's last name Trump. You know this too.

This was the flimsiest case of all the lawfare nonsense which contributed to the Dems November defeat. Most citizens saw it for what it was, legal harassment for hoped political gain. Backfired. Big time. Hatred blinding reason.

Insurrection is a loaded term which scarcely describes the events of Jan 6. You know this too.

I'm not going to spend time researching it, but wasn't Michael Cohen convicted of the same crime or essentially the same crime as Trump? I assume you think the case against Cohen should not have been brought either, and he served time for the crime along with lying under oath. I don't recall you complaining when Cohen was charged but maybe you did.

And you certainly sound like Trump when he says something questionable or false and then says "Everybody knows this".
