Because Austin didn't have the stones. He and Mark Milley were too busy ordering the troops to take DEI training. Meanwhile, 13 soldiers were murdered at Abbey Gate. If Austin had any guts he would have resigned. Austin, like most of the brass at the Pentagon, is little more than a weathercock.

You can't even criticize the many mistakes Joe Biden made. Defend Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan. Defend Austin's poor leadership and Milley's complicity. Biden hoped the American people would forget. We never did and it cost Biden his presidency.
First Carter died, and Baby Donnie had to change established policy to have the flag raised during his inauguration, then he got scared of cold weather and small crowds, so he moved his inauguration inside like a wimp, and now he's going to be overshadowed all week in DC by Jayden Daniels. He's going to throw all sorts of temper tantrums on week one.
And he's keeping all the money corporations donated to pay for the outdoor ceremony. Of course all of that was tribute payments to the pirate so he doesn't sic the government on them, but still ...
Defend Biden's withdrawal from Afghanistan? Easy. Somebody finally ended our commitment to an unwinnable cause and saved us billions and billions in wasted money, and lives, without inviting the Taliban to Camp David, like Trump wanted to do. Interesting you think we should still be involved.

This political hack that wrote the opinion piece should have presented what real evidence that he claims to have to the department of justice investigators or Comey and Jordan, who have investigated Biden for over 5 years and found nothing. But just like you, I'm sure this guy is a real investigator who knows more than anyone else. Please provide your evidence that millions of dollars were paid to the Bidens or stop lying.
Trump pardons 1500 criminals who were convicted of violence and trying to overthrow the government. He can never again claim to be on the side of police and law enforcement.

I saw his post speech interviews, while he was signing the bulk of his executive orders. Most of what he said was funny. However, he said that Russia had more than 1 million deaths (he probably meant casualties). Then he said "and by the way, Ukraine has 700,000 deaths." That really hurts Ukraine. That information is Top Secret. It was an unforced error. It was appalling.

Yes, let's live in the real world not all had guns but some did. There were thousands on attack, including para military. Many were military, or police trained in hand to hand combat. They used bats, flag pole; batons and shields they stole from the police they nearly beat to death. They came armed with bear and other chemical sptays. You call them a "few hundred misguided, unarmed extremist", I know what I saw in horror and I call it an angry mob with intent to disrupt by any means the normal authority and function of our government. Looks like an insurrection to me.

You saw January 6 as clearly as I did. You're a reasonable person. I cannot believe you could find an ounce of justification for anything that took place that day. There were thousands upon thousands of idiots violently attacking police officers, breaking into the Capitol and trying to hang Mike Pence. And now we're just going to forgive them and act like it was just a little pep rally that got out of control? Hell no. It was a premeditated attempt to overthrow our system of government.
