Dejoun Lee ran for 100 yards and a touchdown as Delaware (4-4) defeated Dixie State, 17-10. Lee went over 4,000 all-purpose yards for his career. The Blue Hens, who never trailed in the game, drove 75 yards for a touchdown on their opening drive with Anthony Paoletti running in from three yards out. Lee capped an 81-yard drive with a one-yard run that made it 14-0 late in the second quarter. After DSU answered with a TD, Ryan Coe closed out the half with a 43-yard field goal to make it 17-7. Dixie State pulled within 17-10 after a field goal on the opening drive of the second half, but the Blue Hens' defense, which limited DSU to -4 yards rushing, pitched a shutout the rest of the way. Zach Gwynn was 19-of-28 passing for 215 yards, with Thyrick Pitts making seven catches for 81 yards. Chase McGowan had five tackles, 2.0 sacks and a forced fumble for the UD defense.

Did Rocco just get lucky when he landed Lauletta here? He hasn't recruited a QB since he arrived in Newark.

Yes Mo. the history at Liberty didn’t involve any recruited QBs.

hiring good assistants is part of being a good coach, but the evidence to me seems to suggest Rocco had gotten more lucky here than anything great he did.

I know he received a lot of freedom on the academic side when he arrived. Although unfortunately for him the “trust me’s” didn’t seem to work out. As with most things, most of the dirt seemed to come out around the time he was leaving. As much as I want to move on from Russ…we can do so much better than Danny.
