Thank God it's over

Amen x3. Doubt it will happen, but it should be done. Enough of the passing it around for 28 seconds and either put up a prayer or not get a shot off. Shot clock is 30 now, coach.

Its not over until Chris Mooney is no longer the coach of the spiders. The University, the alumni, the real fans, the players all deserve better. Tonight was another example of his style of play being ineffective, especially on D, and him not doing anything different. It wont change much next year either.

So true. The weave serves no purpose. So often its like the guys think they just have to do it for 15 seconds because CM wants them to and often they arent even looking for a shot.

I'm a bit on edge right now. I "moderate" but I'm also a passionate fan.

Rick, I love you man, but damn. Seriously, saying "thanks" that the season is over? The season ends for all teams; we should wish to carry it forward, regardless of anything else, as far as the players can take us. Disappointing season, but it's a lot more disappointing for the guys on this team.

I've had this conversation with a few on this board, but I'm buying the future if we can keep the squad intact.

With ya 05, next two years should be very good if we keep this group at UR and healthy. If nothing else, we have a bunch of youngsters with a boat load of experience. Sal, red shirts and others coming in. Mix in a little defense and it should be a good year.

Feel free to be negative Nancy now, and IF they are really good next year please find a new team to root for, because you’ll find something else to complain about.

The lack of bench production is the single biggest problem we have. St.Bonaventure had 17 points from the bench we had 8. Next year we get to about .500 we make the NIT. We should make the NCAA tournament when Buckingham, Sherod are seniors. Been around this long enough. We expect making the NCAA tournament. But somehow we lose big games.

Ok I will never post on this board again if CM leads this group to the NCAA's next year but when nothing at all changes strategy wise and we start the season slow and we lose to at least 5 teams we should nEver lose to and we are mediocre at home even w the place packed w 4th graders and we lose 15 point second half leads because CM chokes... will you agree to say that its time for a coaching change because CM just isnt a D1 capable coach? Hmmmmm

I must be missing something here. Didn't we just lose 20 games? Frankly I'm shocked that anyone is NOT glad this season is finished.

I imagine even the players are thinking "thank God that's over". We've got a good team coming back and I am excited about that, but I can't be optimistic if the same coaching staff returns.

So you're saying that if the season ended 4/2 you'd still be unhappy? Seek help.

Yeah, the record isn't good, but don't ever say we should be happy when the season finishes early. Ever.

Is it acceptable to be ready to move on from this season but also acknowledge some impressive young players in the program with lots of eligibility left? If so, that's where I am.

Apparently not. It's not enough to love and support the great young men on the team; if mooney is not your hero then you are a negative nancy and not a true fan.

I never said I was happy the season was over and I certainly didn't say I wanted the season over. I made the comment after the game, not before. You make it sound like I'm glad we lost. You people just read whatever you want, don't pay any attention to what was actually written. Just because I'm relieved that a 20 lose season is now behind us, doesn't mean I'm glad we lost

some hate Mooney, some love Mooney -- most are neither, realize highly unlikely to see a change this off season

I don't love him and I don't hate him. But it's been 13 years, it's time to MAKE A CHANGE.

Better put me in time out, before I totally lose it....

Hear, hear.

Unfortunately, the school just pretends to be committed to success, so we'll be back here having the same talks in 12 months. With that said, the least we can do is regain some mental health over the next 7 or 8 months before we start the washing machine again.

Despite my displeasure with Mooneys stubbornness on not changing up defense,
I saw some glimpses of what could be

1. If Kwan can start next year like he finished then we will have one heck of a
backcourt
2. JJ the last two games averaged double figures, rebounded well, but for us
to do anything next year, we have to have bench scoring. Cayo is a strong
defender but we got to be able to get 5-8 points from him coming off the
bench.
3. Grant needs a viable big man to give him good breaks without giving up
a lot.
4. Nick and Buck need to be more consistent on offense with double figure avg

Lots of teams...like maybe st Louis now... They're tired and they quit. The Spiders were tired and didn't. Glad you're not my father.
Of course you are glad Im not your father, I dont give participation trophies and I would not cry to your coaches begging they play you because all you did was ride the pine in any sport you attempted to play. Btw since you tried to give me the ultimate disrespect by saying Im a bad father, I will tell you I have put 4 kids through college and I would say that UR is only the third best out of the four.
Arent you one of the goody two shoes who goes nuts when there is a "personal attack" on a poster? Now u are fair game. Btw, Mooney still sucks, our starting 5 arent the next coming of the Dream Team, and Im not impressed that the team didn't quit. I know...Im a terrible father. Let the personal attacks begin.

John Beilein rescued a team full of untapped senior talent and took it immediately to the second round of the NCAAs. I will always wonder what he might have done with that group had he coached it for two or three years instead of just one.

I don't want to wonder in two years what this current group of players might have actually been capable of. They deserve the chance to show everyone. I fear continuing the status quo will only continue the status quo.

This team should be expected to make the NCAA tournament next year. Anything less than that is a failure, plain and simple. I personally do not have faith that Mooney is the guy to lead it there, however, and that is why I would make the change now.

7 years and counting....that’s all that really matters. That’s a long drought between NCAA tournaments.
