As we near the end of the OOC, thought I would look at the rest of the Virginia schools and see where things stand.
1. UVA: 9-1: Ranked 13, RPI: 17: Wins over Providence and Ohio State
2. Tech: 9-1: RPI: 55 Wins over Nebraska, at Michigan, and Mississippi: Buzz Williams has really turned that program around in a hurry
3. VCU: 8-3 RPI: 22 Wins over Middle Tenn. State (hey they are the number 12 RPI team in the country, LSU, and ODU
4: Mason 9-3: RPI 124: Wins over Penn State and Northern Iowa. Paulson, good coach has got them on the right path
5. ODU: 5-4 RPI 104: They beat us, but otherwise pretty mediocre OOC. Best win is Towson, whose RPI is 136
6. UR: 5-5: RPI 161: Best win is over 3-9 Robert Morris, whose RPI is 200
7. William & Mary: 4-4 RPI: 233: Churning out a typical W&M season
8. Radford: 3-6: RPI: 193
8. JMU 1-9: RPI: 340: Train wreck, dumpster fire.
Didn't rank the VMI, Longwood of the world. Main takeaway is the resurgence of Tech under Williams, Mason's improved play. UVA and Virginia continue to do what they do, which is be really good and will likely play in the NCAA again.
I'll let others comment on our program and where we rank, specifically in comparison to what we thought of our program back in 2011-2012 against the other state schools. But when your best OOC win is 200 RPI, 3-9 Robert Morris squad, I think that says enough.
