No conference would be as deeply affected by the Ivy League’s potential decision as the Patriot League, and no school’s schedule would be more deeply affected than Georgetown’s.

With the cancellation of their Ivy League games (Harvard, Columbia), the Patriot League’s guidance against playing away games involving flights (San Diego), and other problematic games that involve flying a team to DC (Dayton), the only Hoya football games seemingly not in jeopardy of being cancelled are their seven Patriot League games.

Would love to play Army. National TV, great venue.

Makes more sense for Army to simply shift and play Holy Cross, though. Closer, and a conference rival in everything except football.

Agreed.Attended last UR v Army at Michie Stadium in 1961.Outcome was a 24-6 Loss.UR couldn’t do anything offensively on that day even though Earl Stoudt and Larry Deco were at RB,Mel Rideout was at QB and John Hilton was the big target at TE/WR.

Interestingly Lafayette would have UR pitted against a team coached by a former assistant Coach, John Garrett

Here’s another and more favorable option if the Ivy League cancels and it’s an easy day trip bus ride.

VMI v UR would be a fit if VMI v Princeton game is cancelled.
VMI could use their 9/19 as an OPEN date and play UR on 10/10 in Lexington,Va. which is the VMI original OPEN date.
UR would move its original OPEN date from 10/10 to 10/17.

2020 VMI FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

Sept. 12 at Virginia ... TBA
Sept. 19 PRINCETON ... TBA

Ivy looking at conference only games while either sliding start date of season by a month or moving season to Spring.

Probably looking too far ahead but
I’ve been wondering as the numbers rise in sun belt states if it just gets to the point if the entire season is moved to the spring? Personally would rather have it in spring with fans than fall with none or some sort of modified schedule.

It feels like this is the route that the CAA will go - spring football. Minimally, it allows them to kick the can down the road a few more months and see how things play out with the virus.

I understand why there is some major urgency ($$$) for P5 schools to make the season happen and soon When football is operated at a cost - like it is at FCS schools - it feels like there will be far less urgency.

I'd love to see college football this fall but it doesn't feel like administrators looking at risk/reward is going to allow it to happen. Hope i'm wrong.

Patriot League **** gonna take a big hit with Ivy cancel.

only issue for us is the Pitt game. Turning down the $500k check would be hard to swallow. Same for other CAA schools.

granted, if we really thought it was that much of an issue, we do have a sizable endowment that we could divert some dollars from (realize you don’t want to do that often, but sure seems like we’re in uncharted times).

Dana O'Neil initially said she confirmed it, but now also saying they still hope to move fall sports to spring. Still, no sports until January also decimates winter sports including hoops.

Patriot League will likely be next to cancel since there were 13 games scheduled with Ivy members. In addition,Lafayette,Colgate and Fordham have already canceled 3 non-Ivy money games (USNA,WMU,Hawaii).Stonybrook has since signed as a Colgate substitute for the WMU game.

SEC bides time, says 'late July will provide the best clarity' for making critical calls on its 2020 season

Despite other conferences making decisions on nonconference schedules, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said Monday that "late July will provide the best clarity for making the important decisions ahead of us."
