Just got home and didn't watch game but going by stat line and play-by-play gives me a glimpse of what happened.

Deficit defensive rebounding. Look at box score and not bad for entire game. At .19 mark Drake up 70-68, they get offensive rebound, foul, 2 FTs and now 72-68. At .06 Drake up 72-70 another offensive board by Drake after missing two FTs to boot. LOL. Only one FT made so up 73-70.

Same old end of game Mooney and his control of team play during crucial moments or more appropriately lack of control. Going by Kenpom the Spiders are the 14 nationally with being least TO% team this year. Though small sample size that is what Mooney's teams do well. Ranked 8, 17, and 18th prior 3 seasons.

At 5:56 after GG tech Spiders commits 4 TOs in less than 3 minutes. They only had 10 for the entire game. Yes blame the players but this crap sure seems to happen over and over again under Mooney's direction late in games.

Sad to get a L when a W was well within hand. Up 61-53 and, well, things happened that aren't new to Mooney coached teams. Nice though I see down were 67-62 and Spider close gap and made a real fight of it still almost pulling it out.

Someone explain to me in full how the GG tech materialized?

Golden made an unbelievable offensive move and slammed the ball (he normally goes for the lay-up). He got the T for a stare down on the defender he completely humiliated (may have also said “how about that boy”). It was a weak call.

Mooney compounds mistake by benching him immediately and letting Drake go on a run.

absolute joke.

Golden had the ball, back to the basket. Spun at top of the lane, drove right down the middle and dunked. He then glared at the defender before jawing at him. Must have said some magic words.

Just wanted to make it was another one of GG ill advised on court actions. Usually it's toward the refs but this time opposing player. The T was bound to happen sooner or later. Gilly has the same way about him and kind of shocked on knowing how intelligent these two are basketball sense wise to act that way.

Though I give all the CREDIT FOR HIS ACTIONS to his coach who doesn't seem to be able to controls players or more so doesn't advise his players how to question ref's calls properly. Honestly how could Mooney give out advice? He doesn't even know himself how to work a ref properly.

that call was a killer. couldn't see or hear what he said, but he certainly wasn't overtly unsportsmanlike. yes you should just run back and play defense. but that was a game changer.

With due respect, then how could you know?
by "overtly" I meant in a way that courtside fans and television viewers could see and hear.
he didn't stand over someone or walk over them. he didn't scream in anyones face. he stared at the defender who he beat (and who may have hit him on the finish) while backing away. I know taunting rules have gotten stricter but officials shouldn't have rabbit ears.
