Sissies

Grow a pair. The sissies are the folks that left before the buzzer and missed thanking Kendall and the team.

I'm not ashamed, I'm proud of our guys. Disappointed in the game tonight. Did you ever play sports in college? No one wins every night. I don't question that our guys put in the effort, made some great plays, but simply needed one or two more plays to win the game. If you can't appreciate the effort tonight, you're not a fan.

Agree, not the fault of lack of player effort. Better coaching is what was missing.

If I were the moderator, this thread would be deleted. Disgraceful.

I think the coaching was fine, maybe wouldve used Josh Jones at the end.

The difference was Miami had a closer and Richmond didnt. Kendall couldn't get seperation and neither Terry or Shawndre was looking for contact. TJ is a role player and his shot goes to crap when rushed. As annoying as he is, Treveon knows how to grind out points in the clutch. Terry and Shawndre dissappeared. Kendall was gassed.

The players blew the lead, not Mooney.

+1 Duke not on Mooney guys competed hard but when Miami came to play in the second half we had no answer to their size and just couldn't hit enough shots down the stretch to offset that. It's the way it goes.

I think the bottom line is you either like the style Mooney plays or don't. i like it but against bigger teams we are toast unless we can score to offset our rebounding.

They had open looks and free throws but missed everything. What more could Mooney do?

Your team has nothing to hang thier heads for, great NIT run, last A10 team standing and building for the future. Congrats on a great season, look foward to playing you next year.

Well, probably nothing tonight but long term two things.

1. Adjust our rebounding strategy, philosophy, and techniques. I can at least understand our philosophy for not going after offensive rebounds, but to get continually crushed on the defensive boards is so defeating. We have this great defensive strategy that really frustrates other teams and is very successful, but that all goes for naught when you give up second and third chance points because you can't grab a defensive rebound.

2. Deeper bench. Going 7 deep is sub-optimal and we have done it the past two years. Guys have off nights, guys get injured or gassed during the game, and when you don't have anyone to bring in for them, you struggle. Plus how can we develop our younger players if they don't get any time. Smithen got zero time in the second half of the year. Next year, we have 4 freshman playing, we have got to find a way to get those guys meaningful minutes. Maybe Smithen could have come in tonight and brought some energy, but that was not even a consideration because he hasn't played since January.

coachur91 is obviously a fraud. Our guards could not penetrate as they had previously.ShawnDre and Kendall went 4-20 from the floor.Missed FT's,inopprtune TO's,Cane O rebounds all did us in.
Our playing on Sunday at 7:30 and going to OT and Canes playing at noon on Saturday and a relatively easy win showed up in 2nd half.We were gassed.Great turnaround by team in last 1/3 season.

Me too. It's a message board, and everyone doesn't share the same perspectives. I agree with some and disagree with others. It would be boring if we all thought & posted the same ideas.

There's a difference between debating / disagreeing with strategy and calling the coach a sissy.

I never got to see the comment, but without saying what it said was it directed at Mooney or the players?

doesn't matter. someone deleted "shameful" and replaced it with sissies? oh, that's better. a-hole.

spiderman, you are making an assumption about the post, obviously you were WAY off base. You have read these boards long enough to know have allowed some pretty bad things to remain. I feel the post was "shameful" and warranted quick deletion

sorry Fan1. the thread should be removed or at least the title changed. no idea what the original post said, but I assumed and I think most that will come to the site late will assume that the title "sissies" was aimed at the team. we can debate all day about the goals of this site, but it can't be damaging in any way to the program.
