i rarely miss a game, even these whackadoodle businessman’s specials like next weeks game against St. Francis, but I’m thinking I may have to just stick to my desk after last nights debacle.

Of note, why is it a businessman’s special? Don’t most businessmen work at 11am on a weekday? Shouldn’t it be colloquially referred to as the “power plant swing shift operators special.”???

I watched some of St Francis vs. BC on ESPN+ today. We're going to lose. They are far better than Longwood, and more athletic, and have a couple of really good guards that gave BC some fits. I honestly think we lose by 10 or more based on what I saw of both teams.

Sophomores Jordan & Hawkins?
And Sanabria is not bad, and faced us in 2015...

St. Francis (NY) #315 at Kenpom
from 29th ranked conf. 0 NCAA bids last 13 years
47-41 conf. record last 5 years

Should be an EASY win for the Spiders. Let's not pretend this team is that good as to lighten the blow for Coach Mooney if they lose. No way UR loses this one but if the unthinkable happens, it won't be because ST F had more talented players on the court.

The timing of this game is brutal coming off a loss on Friday night. Hopefully the handful of elementary school students in the building make a lot of noise.

I seem to recall being blown on on a Friday night home-opener last year by an "inferior" opponent, then hosting another "inferior" opponent during a weekday noon game and getting pasted even worse. Will history repeat itself?

Jacksonville State is the inferior opponent your talking about. Playing a game mid-day basically full of elementary school kids. Should they be at school instead of a basketball game?

Is the game Wed going to be another gym full of screeching elementary school kids?

SouthJersey--I'm calling it like I see it. We did not look very good or talented, and what I watched of St. Francis they looked strong, physical, and coordinated on offense and defense against BC.

I think you are basically saying, "St. Francis is in a lower-rated league, therefore we should win." I am saying that is not the case, especially given our performance on Friday.

Talk to 23 if you want the "predict tons of wins so that if it doesn't happen, it's Mooney" shtick.

Yes I do THINK that but what I KNOW is St F is ranked #315 at kenpom presently. Isn't it strange how Mooney's teams seem to bring out the best with regards to some of these low ranked teams talent?

As the ole ball coach used to say about playing an inferior opponent and in recognition of the season, they're white meat." I'm afraid that's what we've become to our opponents. St Francis by 10.

More like "Unemployed Businessman's Special." Most businessmen I know are working at 11 a.m. on a Wednesday.

Aren’t the concessions serving a “three martini lunch” in honor of the Businessman Special?

On another note, is this the STFU that we beat in the NIT a few years ago or the other one?

Does anyone know why this is such an early game? 8am out here on the West Coast and just doesn't seem like a logical time for a game on a Wednesday. Surely the stadium will be pretty empty

I think it started to offer to a new 'audience" and allow the team to leave a few hours earlier on a break. Since then it has been a marketing tool.

I will miss my first home game in years today. Just can’t make it to the 11:00 am game. I always enjoy the kid’s making some noise.
