I say the season will go as follows:

Jacksonville - W
@ BC - L
Elon - L
@ Fordham - W
Albany - W
@ Maine - L
Yale - W
@ Delaware - L
Stony Brook - W
@ Villanova - L
@ JMU - L
W&M - W

Record finishes at 6-6 (3-5 CAA)

The Elon game stands out as a critical contest early in the season. 1st CAA game, home game, certainly winnable but against a very solid program. We will have to play well to beat them and it will give us a good barometer of how much progress Russ and his staff have made since last season.

I would love for the Spiders to beat W&M. We have got to even the series record. If UR can keep the game close at the end of the game, the odds of a UR victory are very good, given that Mike London is in charge.

I'd echo this. The Elon game is huge. Win that one and we're probably 5-2 by the time we go to Delaware. Lose the Elon game and i could see things stacking up against us pretty quickly.

+1; and if we don't run well, our passing game will suffer. if we run 150yds a game, we beat elon and ud

will feel like we've turned the corner if we can win 3 of 4 at The Brick House and at least one on the road versus Maine, DE or JMU...

I don't believe we've won a CAA game versus a high quality opponent since Coach Huesman arrived...Elon will be a very high quality opponent...an upset that give the entire program a lift for the remaining season...

Go Spiders!

I think our all-time record against the Tribe is currently even (62-62-5). Someone correct me if I'm wrong here. Pretty amazing given how many times the teams have played. We really made up the gap over the last 20 years or so. When was the last time we were ahead in the series? Hopefully we will be after this year's meeting.

You're correct. The last time we were ahead was in the 80s. I was at Game 99 when they "caught" us. Pretty amazing that the 100th meeting was the tie-breaker. We were 42-42-5 after 99, and in the 30 games since, both teams have won 15.

Wouldn't that be 47-47-5 after 99?

After 1938 UR led 30-15-4
Then 15 W&M victories and the last tie, to tie the series at 30-30-5 by 1956 (My father saw all 15, age 9-24. He was never certain of a spider victory from then on)
32-32 since...so will there be a tie to keep it tied all-time?

I say we beat Elon and win 1 out of 4 against Maine, Delaware, Villanova, JMU
8 and 4 hopefully we can win 2 out of these four and get back on the playoff road again

As stated above, the Elon game will be huge. Hoping we get out of Boston with limited physical damage and are ready for a big game against Elon. Beat Elon and we should go to Delaware at 5 and 2 with a young and improving team. Get me to that point, and anything could happen. 7 and 5 means we have turned the corner. 8 and 4 and we are all ecstatic! I think Russ and staff have done a great job with the transfers to put us in a position with a young team to compete this year. We will all know a lot more about this team after week 3.

If we win the two games against teams that were deemed cupcakes on our schedule and are fortunate enough to win next week, that would have us at 8-4.

Alas, what could/should have been.

Yale will likely finish 9-1(10 game schedule) after beating Harvard next weekend and tie for the Ivy crown with Dartmouth. The Boola Boola will likely be ranked this coming week after pounding host Princeton (ranked #18),51-14.

…..and, to think, we were up by two scores at home with 1:24 left in the game.

Most Fordham fans both at the game and Fordham alumni truly believed their win over UR was a MIRACLE.Roman Catholics truly believe in MIRACLES.Their prayers were answered.

My guests in the south Red Zone tent were in shock when we all saw that game unravel. The onside kick was ill defended. We didn’t have 2 deep hands. It was obvious where Yale was kicking.DUMB.

QB Rawlings had no time outs and 15 secs and Yale had to throw into the end zone.We DID NOT double their best receiver.DUMB.

Yep, that was a curious one too. For us to have only scored 16 points on a team that is giving up an average of 34 points a game with a schedule that features the likes of Lafayette, Georgetown and Bryant Universities is head scratching.

Yale is now ranked 25th in Coaches Poll and 24th in STATS poll.
