I just don't know why he couldn't have deflected this question better in the midst of this post-season run. Saying he has other options he will consider after the season does nothing but cause a distraction to the team and everyone else apparently by the uproar on here and elsewhere.

Rocco is a calculated guy. There may be an uproar on here and elsewhere on the Internet and that may be the intended outcome. I have not yet seen evidence that there is an uproar with the team. Their performance tomorrow night will cast the stone on that RTD interview.

And all of this may be justified. Just don't know why he didn't wait to talk about it until the season was completely over. Just sounds selfish to me. Let's hope the hoopla around this doesn't affect the team's performance. I'm sure players are finding out.

Most of your posts appear full of conjecture and assumptions. Rocco has not "lost" many assistants at all. Streater left to go to a better job at his alma mater. Fisher left to become a head coach. Who knows is Rocco wanted to keep Trott or not – most fans wanted him gone a long time ago, so "losing" him to JMU wasn't a big loss.

As much as I hate the possible distraction, waiting till the season is over would be too late. If, and it's a big if in my opinion, there's any chance of him staying it had to come out now. I applaud him having the rocks to do so.
