Let that sink in a for a while. Our Spiders just beat Kentucky, the gold standard in basketball. UK has a five-star caliber program, 8 national championships, 59 NCAAT appearances, 131 NCAAT wins, 45 sweet 16 appearances, 17 final four appearances, and 12 appearances in the finals. Kentucky is a basketball blue-blood. A our little, unheralded, under sized team took Kentucky to the woodshed on their home court. This is a win for the ages.

I had seen that it was UK's worst home non-conference loss under Cal, but that quote makes it seem like it's the worst home loss under Cal, period. I had to double-check that, and turns out it's not exactly right: Texas A&M beat them by 12 in Rupp back in January 2013. Still, we can say no one has beaten Kentucky under Cal at home by more than we just did. Wow.

This was awesome! Let's talk about this some more instead! Hopefully our season continues and we advance deep in the NCAAs, but if not, what a win to finish on. I hope this is not the superbowl like Gilyard said because there are much bigger prizes, but for now while we are paused, what a win! We are undefeated all-time against one of the best in baskeball!!
