I know this post may go against the grain, but having just read the article in the TD about the restrictions that VMI puts on its recruiting gives me a whole new feeling of sympathy for VMI coaches.
Their restrictions on recruiting only Virginia kids is archaic.
There were no JMU's and ODU's to compete against not that many years ago. Army, Navy, Air Force, even the Coast Guard Academy, must laugh when they realize that the military oriented student athlete is their's because they grew up in Texas and not VA.
I wonder if they'll ever find the "keys" to their coaches' handcuffs?
