Random thoughts on the first home game

Just wondering some of your thoughts...

I really liked the new field, and if we have to have a track around it, they did a nice job.

Two touchbacks in one game, I haven't seen that since Yoder!

Liked the red pants and I liked the pattern of the new jerseys, but the numbers need to be white. They were really hard to read from my seat. And I do wish they had names on the back. Please bring back the blue helmets.

The Stadium sound system SUCKS. And I know that I'm old, but I am really tired of the blasting music after every play. I'm okay with it during time outs or change overs, but come on. Our non-student "pep band" music selection has gotten soooooo old. I'm really sick of "Do it in the Butt". A kid filled football stadium is not the place for it. From now on I'm bringing my Bose noise dampening over-the-ear headphones.

About 3000 people were at the game. We played a near perfect first half. The kickoff situation is still a huge Achilles heel. Opponents average starting field position was the 40 yard line. Looks like we have dropped Trau and the new field goal kicker was accurate and kicks the ball high. Jacksonville is a very bad team, however they were what we needed to start with. Offensive line was blowing open the middle and protecting the passer well. The second half was a mess, but that was to be expected when the scrubs entered the game. Beautiful night and the fireworks were great.

I agree with Rick, the speaker system has some real issues. Hopefully they get that worked out.

Speakers were horrible in 205-206. Like a big short, in then out. Very annoying. Love the uniforms!

I would love to see a helmet with General Spidey on one side and UR on the opposite side. I know this will not happen due the war on southern heritage that is cuurrent in vogue!

FRS, even when we did not have the attack on this, we never had that on our unis or helmets, ever and never will. at least RH is not as deep in do-do as jeremy pruett at tennessee, they just keep hiring mediocre coaches there, not sure what is going on at a program which has won what 6 national championships.

Richmond has the best logo and helmet in college football. I think they should leverage that with every red/blue/white combination available. Richmond's marketing sucks.
