The pressure is mounting:

1. We have players (Gilyard) talking about the bad mood of the locker room and contentness with losing among some in it.
2. We have players parents complaining about the fans being too critical
3. We have local media (JOC/Andrew Wallace) asking more and more critical questions
4. We have national media talking about Mooney being on the hot seat.
4. We have some members of our fanbase who are becoming increasingly vocal in a number of forums about the state of the program.

It is my belief that if the losses continue to mount, we are going to see more and more of the all of the following and probably some new stuff come out.

My question:
1. Do folks think we are going to see some even more noticeable cracks in our program's foundation?
2. Does this pressure move the Hardt/Queally decision making process?

I have been following the program since Tarrant took over, and I have never seen the program in a worse state than it is right now, including the end of the Dooley tenure. We need to make a change, the sooner the better, the environment inside and around our program is toxic.

I think the best thing that would come from a timely and exciting coaching change would be a re-energizing of our players, and I believe a great coaching hire would help prevent an exodus of our current player talent.

Look how well Manchester United are doing after they sacked Jose Mourinho several weeks ago in the middle of the season, they are now riding an eight-game winning streak.

The last time Duquesne won at the Robins Center was in Dooley's first season as head coach.
Would make for fitting bookends, no?

Am I the only one worried that Hardt has already made up his mind that he's going to keep Mooney another year and the rest of this season won't make a difference in changing his mind?

If he's already made that decision, then a) he's a liar, since he's said on record he will be evaluating things after the season, b) he's a terrible AD and c) he's going to regret it once he hears the backlash.

No, I am taking him at his word that he is going to fully evaluate the status of the program at the end of the year. I think the rest of the season matters very much depending on how things play out.

I'm not sure why all of a sudden people feel like the decision has been made that he is going to keep Mooney for another year. If anything, I think the start of the conference season thus far, has further reinforced why he needs to make a change.

Why would he have already made up his mind when there is a lot of basketball left to be played this year? I think he will be very interested in how we do and how we look the rest of the way.

Outcome of the evaluation could include keeping him.

I'm told Crutcher will let Mooney play out the string
Many in the good seats are all for being patient for at least one more year. Keeping players in the fold with eyes on a talented 2019-20 roster. It is wild but as bullfrog mentioned, it is all part of the evaluation. Maybe he will get a stern talking to in the sit-down.

"Highs and Lows."
The Iowa analogy - (paraphrasing) "The fans kept filling the stadium and their patience was rewarded."

I don't know that a decision's been made; I just think "one more year" is the most likely outcome.

If we really do go 5-13 in A10 play, for a regular record of 11-20.....well....

I am not sure he survives a 5-13 A-10. I have been a big supporter, but I expected a real good year, and I doubt I would be on here next off season with the same support if we go around 5-13. The A-10 is far from a juggernaut. I still hope we can get a streak going, but we should be playing better and winning more.

I know the real reason you won't be here next offseason...

What makes people so certain that Quealy is stopping the dismissal of Mooney.
I reference Bobby Ukrop and our past soccer program as an example of “no one
person can hold the athletic program hostage.”

I did not say I would not be here. Learn to read instead of worrying about making up a bunch of nonsense.
Ya I read you wrong my bad, but I'm guessing you won't be on here next offseason or whenever your pal Mooney is gone.

You've been a member all of 4 days. On another thread you claimed him of being a short term troll account while that is all your account is.

Pot meet kettle.

Actually I think the opposite of this is true. PQ is reportedly the primary source of funding for CM's 10+ year contract, and the two are reportedly friends outside of work (probably more like a subordinate who is social with his boss). The implication is that PQ is resisting the calls to oust CM which seems like a plausible explanation.

PQ didn't hold the soccer and track programs hostage, but he basically put the nails in the coffin with the financial conditions of the men's lacrosse start-up, and due to the larger PQ checkbook, Bobby Ukrop was powerless to stop the deep-sixing of men's soccer. Then the BOT refused to let BU address the issue in front of the BOT.

BU's name now appears on the donors lists for athletics at VCU and R-MC, money that before 2012 would have likely come to us.

So I do think one person can hold a program hostage, and I would point to PQ and his massive financial influence as one such person.

and as a result, BU resigned, right?

that makes it 3 of us HA/BSH, Does that make us a majority on this blog?
I think it does. I-M do you still get out to BSH a lot? A lot of changes have happened there even since I graduated in 2015. Would love to meet up with you and Spiders13 sometime at an alumni event or homecoming football game this fall. Go Knights/Rebels
