Possible Game at Uconn Monday

Tomorrow's UConn/NC State game is off due to COVID, but looks UConn players are saying the positive is from NC State.

I hope we get to play this game, but have some concerns. No practice for over a week, might reduce our quality of play. U of CT is a Big East team with a 3-0, although 2 of the games were against poor opponents.

The whole season is going to be like this, so get used to it now. Sometimes we'll be the team coming off a pause, sometimes the opponent will be. I suspect it will mostly end up the way it should. And our experience should mitigate the lost practice time.

Watching game day and all the conversation about teams missing players from COVID , but the team is still playing? We have non players test positive and we’re no playing?

Stop complaining, an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Regardless, let’s keep our players & staff safe.

Gonzaga and Baylor game is canceled today after Gonzaga got more positives.

No update on UConn yet, but Mooney confirms they're discussing it.

...and just seconds later, Noah throws some cold water on things.

I think it will be very hard to schedule games against P5 teams at this juncture. Conn U is no different and is an excellent example. I also expect the game against WVU to be canceled. If the Spiders want to play someone between now and the conference, they are going to have to look closer to home for openings.

Complaining? A simple question.....not that id take any instruction from you
So by inference let’s say, Ohio St, you’re saying they want their kids to get sick? I assume there are some protocols etc.

OMG safe? really? They have more of a chance to die walking from their dorm to the Robins center. This is the irrational nonsense that will keep this shit going for years. Safe? sure. Ive had three friends commit suicide in the last 6 months and two others die from cancer... could we have prevented them from dying carter?

Very sorry for your losses, father, and for yours, gcarter. The issue is that you can't give someone mental illness or cancer by coughing on them. But again, there are no ideal outcomes here.

I agree that we better have some tentative agreements lined up with ACC teams in this area.

It would be great to find some games against power conference teams, but if not, any games would be good. It would be important to keep our guys in sync and in game mode, and they deserve to show how good they are against any opponent. I'm sure they just want to play any team at this point.

And, I think we just need to win enough as far as the dance is concerned. We got the Kentucky win, we got ranked, and we received a heck of a lot attention for it. There will be so many games canceled this year, I doubt the committee will focus too much on certain ratings and indexes. We just need to keep passing the eye test, no matter who we play.

Are we able to move the team to a “more friendly” and nearby testing state for the next 4 months or at least for a period until we have implemented vaccinations ubiquitously? This stop-go,stop-go approach is extremely frustrating for all concerned.

How many completed games are required for a team to qualify for the NCAA tourney?

I was curios so I looked it up something around 15000 players in D1 football and I couldn’t find any players who’ve died from COVID. I did find one in small college so that may mean 1 player of 73712 college football players at all levels died of a COVID related ailment. Can’t wait to get back to playing so this nonsense conversation can stop

Have you checked on the people they came in contact with?

Is no one else curious about a game scheduled Monday or do we just want to trade barbs on statistics and opinions about whether we like rules put in place?

A good thing about it is that game is on ESPN+, besides no fans be there. I’m going to record it since the game starts at 2pm.

If you’re at risk it your job to avoid contact not the 20 somethings. Us old guys who may Be at risk shouldn’t penalize the younger folks who are just trying to live the lives we already had

Absolutely 100% agree. Very selfish for the older generation to want the younger generation to stop living their normal lives to possibly lengthen the lives of those who already had a full life. Thank you.
