Play to win

Dude. I wasn’t being literal. I am aware no one said those exact words. You are creating a boogeyman, and then arguing against the boogeyman you created. We lost to Hofstra, and in my opinion the board lost its ever loving mind.
But no one here defends Mooney no matter what. Some just don’t feel compelled to sarcastically post “best class ever” in six different threads just because we have a bad defensive half of basketball.

I didn't lose my mind over Hofstra, I think this team should easily finish top 2 in the A10. My concerns are with Mooney's long term patterns. Go look up posts from 10 years ago, I was very supportive of Mooney for years, his inability to adapt unless he had some major kick in the pants slowly pushed me to think he was not that great. Little accountability from admin and fan base making excuses. Hopefully players will have success and be able to finish the season out.

Denial is a terrible thing. One should undertake recovery. There are 4 stages to acceptance, plus denial. "The goal of treatment is to help individuals recognize the early stages, in which the chances of success are greatest." Deep breathing often helps. Once recovery is accomplished, he or she will see that this team is well-coached. The future is bright. Great things happen to those who work hard. This may help. Repeat slowly Mooney can do no wrong.

Just tried this. Andrew White suddenly appeared saying, "Get over it. I still ain't coming." then he just disappeared. Must have gotten the steps out of sequence.

on playing freshmen, I think it's pretty typical for freshmen to see very little time early in the year and for it to increase over the season for the ones most ready. some won't get the chance depending on the roster. most teams don't go more than 7 or 8 deep in close games and freshmen aren't normally top 8.

on this roster, without injuries I don't think any of the freshmen would break in to the main rotation despite their talent. Weir had a shot as the backup 5's haven't been proven.

I follow some teams where I know freshmen from AAU ball. one who went lower level than he needed to is getting substantial time. most barely see the floor. their time will come, just like our freshmen. despite the thinking here, freshmen do get better in practice. it's not like they're just sitting around.

Bingo. Operative 2 words and perspective are "long term". You are spot on. The record & accomplishments long term are indisputable, factual, and speak for themselves. I guess different people see success in different lights. To me conference championships & NCAA appearances are at the top of the list. Not to minimize attributes such as developing young men, graduation rates, etc.
