The last two games there has been made reference to the long throw being taken away from KL. Are we changing our options now with more medium patterns and short or what. Listening to the game on Spider Network while driving, it seemed like we were continually trying to hit the long throw and many times the commentators talked about players open underneath. Question is the last two games, has Kyle been trying to force the long throw vs take the shorter pass route?

IMHO defenses have been sending 2 or 3 players long to make an INT. It seems that the smart play is to send receivers like Simpson long and throw it to Hudson or a RB short. Send 6 receivers out, while having Lauletta roll out. Place one RB in front of Kyle to either catch or block, as needed.

Yes. Looks a little like early 2015 Kyle in that he's forced a few that are unnecessary. When you are struggling to maintain drives, its hard to blame him for not wanting to make a big play. But again that's only been a couple of plays, he hit a lot of underneath throws as well.

Hoping we put an even larger emphasis on the underneath game this week. My guess is Trott is gonna bring the heat. We haven't been tested against a constant blitz, especially one with as much talent as JMU has.

I think KL got comfortable last year, Brown would go up and get them in coverage, Brissett seems to be faster, maybe, but you can't out run someone who is already 20 yards down field.

Delaware just played a center fielder and shut off the long ball

We will need to run the ball and keep them honest with some screens.
