OT: Woj bomb!

Yes, HPU coach is killing it so far. And I hear they have a nice campus too - which we know in the hoops world is a detriment to success - so he has overcome that to have a two year .800 winning rate.
When I was in college HPU was very active in recruiting richmond area kids as students. Have more HPU grad friends here than UR when I think about it.

A couple mentioned to me that their president when they were students would regularly cite that they wanted to resemble a school like U of R.

I'm not saying he'll win recruting battles with higher conferences. I guess he could if the NIL is excessive, but that's not realistic.
Got my quote from ESPN:
High Point does have a resource advantage over the rest of the league, but the two-year dominance is noteworthy. As one agent said, "He's playing with pocket aces, but he's [still] very good."
If High Point (the University and resources available, not the coach) is playing with pocket aces, what is UR playing with in the A10?

A pair of 8's? Just enough to compete in most hands?

we have very nice facilities. so do some others.
I wonder where we've been in terms of NIL. I doubt we've been at the top, but certainly close enough to it to expect more than a 13 seed.

NIL is the big mystery these days. Being private - UR never discloses anything, and I get it - but I think sometimes, it would be beneficial to disclose some numbers. Example - VCU and Mason have both thrown out numbers of around $3 million for their basketball team NIL Money next year when the schools can pay them directly. IF UR is able to match that or go above it - would it be good publicity to state that and make it public? This way recruits and transfers know - they got money and are paying in line or better than schools in their own conference. By not saying anything - sure we might be more than other schools, but it will be a secret.

Huss is just a shot in the dark. Lots of folks want to go back to the Shaka tree- Some folks like Odom's assistant Henry and others like Theus. Someone threw out Chris Mack as well.

Ed does have ties to American. That's how he landed Odom, so you may be on to something with Simpkins.

No clue, this one may come way out of left field, however, no one wants a retread.

Odom seems to rely on and delegate to Matt Henry a good amount. Unlike Mooney. Theus maybe in future but I expect way too green right now.

The Shaka tree is Mike Morrell at UNCA. I could see that. he should be on our list too but idk how the vcu connection plays.

Just seeing this...wtf Borzello. He's got too many good ones on that list. 2 explanations. the names came from all types of industry sources and I cannot confirm or deny I'm a source. Or we have a leak within the GKiller's Interns.

Funny how Mooney is never mentioned ever on these lists. Not even 1 mention for Moon.

And Odom #1. yet vt4700 was telling me how Mooney>Odom all summer before it was hibernation time. tbf most of u guys missed the boat on vcu.

i would say Jack's, enough to open, not enough to win.
