He can overcome seemingly insurmountable odds. It's magical.Mooney still had an 11% chance of losing and took it!

No doubt, we were all waiting for the other shoe to drop and it did.You do get the sense the crowd is expecting a loss. Even when we’re up 8 late in the second half
Stop me if you've heard this one before........Richmond had an 89% win probability with under 9 minutes left......and then.........
Mooney looking to injure another player, the Sherod's lawsuit be damned.Gilyard injury clearly hampered his former explosiveness. He almost looked like he was not sure footed and hesitant.Hampered all phases of his game.
. Game #2 with Gilyard not looking for shot. He definitely is not 100% and Mooney is keeping him in hoping they can win. The team definitely looked totally lost earlier in the season without him, but I don’t see how this current plan is working either. The freshman that have been getting playing time are getting better and definitely have energy. Unfortunately, the energy can lead to some poor shot selection. Matt Grace played really well in his short number of minutes. For a plus, there were some more substitutions this game. Obviously, Mooney believes that Yates is the best shooting option “under pressure”, I suppose due to his experience level. He has a decent looking shot, but has a tendency to not get set. Also, he needs a buzz - he is constantly pushing the hair out of his face. The team did play better tonight, but once again we didn’t have a guy to takeover and lead the team to victory. That’s the main problem, confidence.Jake G looked hurt to me. He missed that layup early and threw up a terrible three pointer and then spent most of the rest of the game not really looking for a shot at all.
.
Gilyard is definitely hurting. The question is how long will Mooney keep playing him trying to keep his job. Kid played 34 minutes tonight while hurt.
Mooney was asked directly by JOC in postgame whether Gilyard was injured. Mooney was emphatic that he was not injured. Said in the post game, that his confidence was down.the 10 days off didn't help Gilyard's injury. that's not a good sign. this isn't something that's going to go away with a little rest.
I love the kid. he has a lot of heart and wants to be out there. and even at 50% he does help some. but because of the injury he's not the real Jacob Gilyard. and we won't win many games without the real Jacob Gilyard.
We totally suck! We may equal the season back in the mid/late 70s of only 4 wins!
It may have been obvious to you, me and the other 5000 people in the building last night. But you know who it was not obvious too: Chris Mooney.Gilyard seemed to start the game fine, but had a drive in the first half where he stepped awkwardly, and he was pretty much hampered the rest of the time. It was pretty obvious. I hope he does not play until after the new year. We don't need to put further stress on his injury against High Point and South Alabama.
“Good showing” Really? ODU?Only could go by live stats but appears to be the case. Good showing but still a loss.
Wow and it wasnt even that close.Mooney still had an 11% chance of losing and took it!
Minnesota a few years ago. Miami NIT game. The players change, the song remains the same.Wow and it wasnt even that close.
As they say, "Stats are for losers!" The only thing that counts is the final score displayed on the scoreboard with the clock reading 00:00.“Good showing” Really? ODU?
He's playing hurt, no doubt. All the signs are there. The game was Jones coaching, Stith shooting, and also wonder if Gilyard is playing hurt? His last two games have been tough going for him................

Put the Elf on the shelf? On this, we agree. I assume at this point a medical redshirt has been burned. It's too bad, as this is already pretty much a lost season (yes, it's possible to win the A10, but...c'mon). Of course, shelving him would disrupt #bestclassever plans for next year.
